WWII Infantry Platoon RPG
You are a soldier in one of several squads stationed in a small village in the French countryside, Estaing, newly liberated from the Germans. The situation there is still questionable: the Germans were only pushed just beyond the village's outskirts, and the threat of their attacks to recapture the town is always present. There are four three-soldier squads which make up the platoon, which was put together hastily regardless of a shortage in soldiers. As a result, it is made up of soldiers from many different countries, particularly the US, France, and England.
Estaing is a quaint village, which has welcomed the platoon with open arms. The civilians are friendly and helpful, but there have been rumors of an informant to the German army, so be careful with what you reveal to them. The village is surrounded on by large hills and mountains, except on one side, where there is a river flowing past. The Germans have been pushed beyond the mountains, but several nights ago it was reported that German spies were seen in the forests covering the mountains.
Not far from the riverbank there is a church (called the "eglise"), ruined by the war. Despite its many holes, it is very sturdy and has been designated as an armory and is used as a general meeting place for the troops, who have been living with civilians, as a result of a lack of anyplace large enough to house them all. The Eglise is guarded twenty four hours a day.
Here is the list of characters thus far. Please note, I am pretty clueless regarding military structure, and I tried to do some research to figure out how to section this off, but if it's incorrect, please PM me or post so I can change it. ALSO, for the sake of entertainment, soldiers can be men or women, even though there wouldn't actually be many women fighting in WWII. If too many people join than the chart below allows, we will add members to each of the four squads until they reach 9 or 10, and then we will add a fifth squad. Also, there needs to be one Platoon leader and one Platoon Sergeant, followed by a Staff Sergeant for each squad, the superiors. If you want one of these positions, there is a place in the application for it. If you want one of these, I'd prefer that you were really literate and knowledgeable about WWII. But whatever. XD
