I was listening to "Love and War" by Drowning Pool, and I got inspired to write. I believe it's good, but I would really like comments on it.
"Love and War"
I looked out for you every night. I hoped you weren't in the fight. You told me you'd never go away. I can't let you go now, no, not today.
You are in the front lines. Death dances before your eyes. Tears come as you kill another soul, You've made another wife alone.
"All is fair in love and war." Tell that to the souls no more. Fighting is not for the soft at heart. You missed; now your body's torn apart.
You've finally come home, but you are no more. Somewhere back there is my love, lost at war.
