(( surprised *Deeply disturbed by LSX's current avatar* xd ))
Vinya'nyota bit her bottom lip, unsure what else she do or say to cheer Sononeka up. They were a part of a lovely Pride, full of kind and considerate lions and lionesses. The land itself was welcoming, and her cubs would never have to want for anything. Even though their father wasn't around, she knew that she was fully capeable of giving her cubs the kind of upbringing that she only wished she would've had when she was young.
With a heavy sigh, she allowed her eldest cub to pass her. She was sure that he would be OK, if he was just given the space that he seemed to think he needed. Hopefully, he would come round on his own. Managing a small smile, she nodded at Vinca. "Of course we can." Saying that, she turned to Thelugi. "Do you want to come outside and play too Thelugi?"
Sononeka didn't move too deep into the den, just deep enough so that he was away from his family but could still see them. He half expected his mother to come after him, so when she didn't, he didn't know quite what to think about it.
He eventually decided that he didn't care, and so he sat himself down and decided to watch his mother and his siblings. In his head, he kept repeating what he had said to them. It would serve them right if he did just up and leave.

The cub was a little torn, standing and watching his older brother and about to say something before his mothers words made him turn and blink slightly. Now he was in a big pickle. He paused for a moment, looking briefly at her than his sister before looking at his brother again.
After a few moments he smiled and turned back to his mother with a slightly apologetic look.
"No thanks, momma." He started. "I'd rather stay here with Sononeka."
He continued to smile, hoping he hadn't upset her or his sister.

Vinca watched her brothers and sighed, wells he wasn't going to miss playing outside for anyone! With her head in the air she trotted out in to the muggy, fresh air leaping at the first sucrrying insect. If her brothers didn't want to playw ith her she would just have to make up songs about friends.
She liked that idea opening her paws to look at the bug, which she had missed. She pouted and looked back towards the den before a rumble echoed above. She darted towards her mother, skidding between her mothers paws and hiding her head in her mothers thick belly fur.

Vinya'nyota nodded at Thelugi, although she was unsure if it was a good idea. "If he tells you to leave him alone, you have to respect that Thelugi." She smiled fondly, so proud of her white son for being persistant. "Just because he seems unhappy now, it doesn't mean he'll grow up that way. For some, it just takes a while until they see the light." Saying that, she leaned down to nuzzle Thelugi. "Try not to worry about Sononeka. I know he'll be OK."
After taking one last look at Sononeka, Vinya'nyota walked outside and waited for Vinca to join her. The clouds overhead were dark, and the sun was now covered. When a rumble echoed above, she smiled down at Vinca. "Don't worry love, it's just thunder. It's just like a giant drum being beaten in the sky." Her ears perked, listening for more thunder. It looked like a storm was rolling in, and she couldn't be happier.
Sononeka rolled his eyes at his mother's words. He didn't think that he would ever be OK, because those around him didn't understand him and they most likely never would. Still, that didn't stop his younger brother from trying.
"Go away Thelugi." He said as soon as his white brother reached him. Saying that, he got up from where he was sat and turned on his heel, so that when he sat back down he had his back to Thelugi. Soon after doing that, he too heard the distant rumble that came from above. Ears perked, he glanced over his shoulder towards Thelugi. "Did you hear that?"

Thelugi nuzzled his momma back, watching her before he smiled at her and watched her and his sister leave. He did worry about Sono' a lot at times, but if his momma said he'd be okay...he supposed she was right.
As he drew closer he soon got spoken too and back off a little, ears pinned back sadly as he sat there watching his brother's back...until the thunder rumbled over head and his ears perked forward. He looked around and stood up, tail twitching back and forth almost joyfully.
"Yeah...sounds like it's gonna be a big one..."
He then looked back to his brother.
"You wanna go watch...?"

Vinca trembled for a moment but as her mothers words reached her ears she peeped out and looked at the dark heavens. "y..yeah..i guess it is kinda like big drums." she whispers staying close to her mother her gentle gaze looking to wach of her brothers. She hadn't meant to get scared, they would thinks he was a wuss now. Foo!
She saighed softly and cuddled up against her mothers belly watching the clouds asthey rumbled the earth. She could watch perfectly well from here, cuddled against her mother.

Vinya'nyota lifted a paw up to cuddle her daughter as she huddled underneath her. As another clap of thunder rolled overhead, she glanced towards the den. This was what her son Sononeka had been waiting for, and by some miracle, it was about to occur.
It wasn't long before Vinya'nyota could the occasional drop of water land on her back. The droplets became more and more frequent until it was eventually a full-on shower. Knowing the lands as well as she did, Vinya'nyota knew that the shower wouldn't last long, and so she gently picked Vinca up by the scruff of her neck and carried her back into the den.
"Sononeka, it's raining." She said with a smile as she placed Vinca down. "Hurry up or you'll miss it."
Sononeka blinked as the thunder continued to boom, causing him to get to his feet. When his brother asked him if he wanted to go watch it, his moody personality gave way for a split second and allowed him to nod. With that, he trotted ahead of Thelugi towards the mouth of the den, just as his mother arrived to take shelter.
When he reached the mouth of the den, grey cub stared out at the land. The ground was soggy, the sky was grey and the rain was just amazing. He had never seen anything like it, and a huge part of him just wanted to go outside and play in it. He refrained from doing that though, and simply turned to his mother, then his sister, then finally his brother. Whatever he planned on saying however remained unsaid, as he soon turned back to watch the rain.

The young cub was happy to get a friendly reaction from his brother, smiling softly before he moved behind him to the mouth of the den after appropriately greeting his mother and sister from coming back in. He then set his young eyes on the storm that rolled in and now washed the land with rain, smiling more so before he tentatively stepped out and feeling the mud squish between his paws.
It took him a little while to get used to it, but he continued to squish the mud with his paws before slipping and ending up on his stomach, just another loud clap of thunder echoed over the skies.

Vinca peeped out between her mothers paws but she happily stayed curled up at her mothers belly watching as the large wet drops hit the ground turning the dusty soil to mud rather quickly.
She laughed as her brother tumbled in the dirt though it was only a quick playful giggle. "The rain is strange." She contemplated, nestling closer to her mother, if that was at all possible. "It makes a nice noise." She let a yawn roll off her maw then and she closed her eyes, her eyes flickering as she listened tot he heavy pitter patter and blops of the rainstorm.

Vinya'nyota chuckled as she watched Thelugi play, whilst watching Sononeka through the corner of her eye. "The rain won't hurt you. Go play with your brother." Having said that, she carefully lay down beside her daughter Vinca and then pulled her in close to keep her warm. Although it was a tropical storm, the slight drop in temparature wasn't appretiated by everyone. At Vinca's comment on the rain, she smiled and nodded. "A fair few Pride members have found their rhythm during storms like this."
Sononeka frowned at his mother's words. He knew full well that the rain wouldn't hurt him, but right now he just wanted to observe it rather than experience it. When his brother Thelugi went out, the grey cub watched him carefully. His paws seemed to sink a little with every step, and his small mane soon became flat on his head. He seemed to be enjoying himself though.
When Thelugi slipped in the mud, Vinya'nyota got up from where she was lay, being careful not to disturb her sleepy daughter as she did so. "Are you alright son?" She said as she reached him, before standing over him to sheild him from the rain so that he could get to his feet.
Sononeka blinked as his brother slipped on the soggy ground. When his mother went out to help him, the grey cub tentatively took a step out of the den. The ground underneath him felt funny, as did the rain on his back. He liked it though. Everything seemed softer now, as the harshness of the usual climate was replaced by the somewhat cooler climate of the storm. He wished it could last forever.
(( xd On that last note, I think we should start finishing this off in the next few posts. ))

Thelugi didn't really look like he knew what happened, sitting up in the thick mud before he looked up at his mother before he got up to his feet and smiled. Now soaked and fur clinging to his tiny form as he nodded to her.
"I'm okay momma." He said before peering at his brother stepping out of the den and offering a small smile his way, shaking his fur and sending a small spray of smaller droplets in all directions.

Vinca giggled sleepily her big doe eyes looking dozily out at the rain. "The rains pretty." She whispers, shuffling a little further in to the den away from her soggy brothers. Her nose pointed towards the opening of the den but the rains gentle pitter patter was slowly drowing out all other noise, setting a rythem for her to sleep to.
She yawned and foldided ehr paws under her chest, her golden eyed gaze closeing as she let the rythem of the rains slowly lull her in to a song filled sleep.

Vinya'nyota smiled warmly before picking Thelugi up by the scruff of his neck and carrying him back to the den. When she gently put him down, he glanced over her shoulder towards Sononeka. "Come in now dear. If you stay in the rain for too long you'll catch a cold." She then returned to where Vinca was lay and snuggled up beside her, before motioning for Thelugi to join them. "You need a bath." She said with a grin.
Sononeka stayed in the rain for a little while longer before going back inside. He then shook himself off, causing his pink mini-mane to go all messy. The grey cub was happy though, having experienced something that matched his state of mind and his general outlook on the world. He knew it couldn't last forever, but then, did that mean that he was open to change as well? Only time would tell.
(( ^^ Finished! ))
