His days were filled with constant silences, and his nights were even quieter. The boy was always silent, even as he continued to grow. It was as if he couldn't help himself, since he chose to always be so quiet. Even around his siblings, he couldn't help but constantly keep his feelings in. The only noises that kept him fulfilled were the beautiful sounds of the nature around him, and the wind kept him eager and happy enough.
It was hard for Gaudi to understand himself really, he had always been rather peculiar. The male just assumed it was because it was, not because it was his actions. It plagued him to think that he was controlling his uncomfortable ways, and when he would sleep at night, he would dream of a different self, one that was carefree and open like his siblings. Was such a fate so far away? Or was it merely the acts of an impossible dream?
Gaudi quickly pushed himself out his thought as he walked, and his eyes stayed to the ground as they always did. Why was he always so confused? He needed some kind of guidance, even if it was only for a moment. He needed just a bit of social contact, since his personality was dwindling by the seconds..

Aushitia'moyo, as she was now known, still wasn't completely used to the marshy and wet lands that the Jini-msemi had called home. But even though she still didn't like that squishy feeling between her toes, there was something about it that she loved. And that it was home. She felt safe here, cared for, and plus she felt that it was the best area to raise a family. And quite a handful of cubs she did have to handle, now!
Even though they were getting older, day by day, she still couldn't believe the number. 5! Her first litter was only two, and they were long gone, dead or alive, the brown lioness didn't know. She concentrated on what was in front of her, though, and those were her 5 children.
Speaking of children...
"Gaudi?" she called out with a soft voice, guessing that it was her son. He held the same coat colour as her, and the stripes that reminded her of Banji, the kind lion who had brought her out of her depression. "Is that you?"

His feet stopped instantly, and his heart felt as if it had skipped a beat as well. How long had it been since he had heard someone else's voice? And the voice he heard was exquisitely familiar. Gaudi raised his purple eyes to that of his mother's, and his eyebrows drooped in a satisfied glee. His mother, thank goodness! He hadn't seen her since he was a mere cub!
"Hello~" he said, with a shifty voice. His voice didn't feel like his own, but it was satisfactory enough. Gaudi moved himself into a faster pace so that he could approach his mom, and show her how much bigger he had gotten! His paws slipped a bit as he zoomed himself over to her, but a kind grin worked hard to mold itself on his scrunchy face!
"Mom, its really good to see you!" his voice was still quiet, but it was happy at the same time. He was really starting to look like her, wasn't he? Gaudi started to wonder if his mother was proud of that, and random thoughts quickly flowed into his already flustered brain!

Oh, goodness! Well, at least he didn't seem quite so horribly down as when he didn't realize she was there. She nudged the top of his head with her own, craning her neck to get a good look at him. "You're getting so big, aren't you Gaudi?" She gave a little lick to his head, before drawing back.
It was amazing just how fast her cubs seemed to grow. Soon enough, they would be sent on their naming quests, and Aushi would learn first hand what it was like for the other mothers (mostly Asali) to feel that uncertainty that some of them might never return.
But now she was jumping a bit too far ahead.
"What're you doing out here all alone?" she asked, worried about his saftey. Even if the swamps were mostly safe, you never knew just who could wander in them. Hopefully the spirits would keep dangerous rogues away, but there was always a streak of pessemism in her mind.

His mother's affection made him shiver, but it was in a good way! It felt so nice to be under her watchful eye again, since he was always off on his own being random from time to time. Every time he looked up at his mother's eyes, he realized he carried the same eyes, and that was pretty cool, wasn't it?! "Hopefully I will be taller then you someday." In a strange way, that felt like a silly goal!
At her question, he could only crinkle his nose, before lowering his head again. "I tend to wander off a lot, and then I get sorta lost." After he spoke, he raised a brow in realization that that was pretty pathetic! "Sometimes I like getting lost, it makes things interesting." Gaudi had gotten tired of following his siblings around, since he wasn't into the mischief and games that they played all the time. "Do you think that's weird, mom?"
His question was asking for a honest answer, and he brought his shaky eyes to his mother's almost instantly. As much as he was quiet, that didn't mean that he wanted to grow up being weak in any way. His parents were both strong in different ways, and Gaudi also wanted to be strong in his own way! "I don't want to be someone who only looks strong, I want to have a strong heart too." But at the moment, that seemed impossible, didn't it?
Talking was most certainly helping, and his tongue felt relaxed as he conversed with his mother. It felt nice to hear his voice again, and he was thankful to both his body and mind. But now he would have to take his mother's advice and use it, and listen to all of the knowledge that his mother held.

So many questions! They were much different from her first boy, who only wanted to know why they did this, and why they did that. Now, Guadi was asking questions that Aushi could only guess at, since everyone's experiences weren't the same. Her background had been very hard, but to see where she was at now, she couldn't care less about it. It made her world to see her children smile at her so warmly.
"I'm sure you'll be taller than me," she teased. She was a bit smaller than a typical adult lioness herself, but Banji had been large, so perhaps he got more of his father's genes. She sure hoped so!
She let herself think about all of his questions, hoping to answer them in the simplest manner.
"Alright, then," she started, settling herself down on the ground so they wouldn't have to crane their necks to look at one another. "Well, it's alright getting lost, I guess. Just make sure you stay out of trouble, okay? I don't want anything to happen to you, Gaudi." She smiled warmly at him. She was tempted to pull him towards her and give him a good groom, but felt that it might be a little too much at the moment.
"A strong heart?" she repeated, surprised that he was thinking so deeply already. Her new name related to that, as it meant that she took herself much more into account than what others thought about her. "Well, you need to train your heart, then, to get nice and strong like your body will one day." She hummed for a moment before continuing. "So you need to open it up a little, make some friends, maybe even get hurt a bit. But every time you heal, it'll be stronger. Then you'll have the heart you so desire. It takes time," she puased, taking a moment to give her son a little bit of a more serious look, "but I'm sure you can handle it."

Gaudi was also silent for a moment, but his tail swished back and forth as he thought, and he concluded that he would do all of what his mother said, since she was most definitely correct. "I don't try getting into trouble, I am actually quite good at avoiding it." he then said, with a comforting nod.
But at her other advice, his mind was still bubbling, since it was full of ideas and wonder. "I have heard that strong heart is necessary when getting older, that's why I had to ask." Maybe it was bad that he put his mom on the spot like that, but he tended to do that a lot in conversations. "But I don't think I really know how to make friends, I'm not wild and exciting." Like, for instance, some of his other siblings. He could barely keep up with them, so why would someone random want to talk to him? "I suppose if it is necessary I will try. That will be my biggest challenge."
Funny that social contact would be harder for him that getting hurt or healing...
"Thanks though, for your support." he then added, while moving his head under his mom's chin. "Have you seen dad at all?" he then randomly asked, while feeling his mother's head weight against his skull. For a moment, he felt totally strong, but then he needed to move his head out of position, since it hurt too badly! "You are the fist I've seen in awhile!"
