Nari nodded, heartily agreeing with Zimwi's assessment. "We used to scare people away, you know," he chuckled, "Or so Mother tells me. We'd make people think the swamp is haunted."
"I mean, it is, but we'd pretend to be the ghosts."

He was surprised, to say the least. "I scared people? Really? Me?" He blinked, trying to imagine him scaring someone. He had to suppress a laugh at the idea of Bodaway puffing up in fright at the sight of him. After a moment, smiled almost sadly.
"That's kind of... Ironic... A pride of lions used to call my family, and any lion who was white, spirits... That's... Why I was called Zimwi in the first place." He shook his head, ears folding back just a bit. "I don't even remember what my parents called me... All I remember is being called 'spirit'." He made a face. "Now that I look back... I hate that name... At least for myself..."

Nari listened, curious about the other lion's past. "We used to be mostly browns and things, before Mother came to bring us back, but I don't think we ever had anything against someone who looked different just because they looked different. My grandfather was white."
"I bet it's about time you got a new name," he observed idly.

So white ran in the very blood of the pride... It made Zimwi smile, as he had nothing to fear. He felt like he was... Home. In a place that was heaven to him. It amused him sometimes to think about it, that he felt like he was home where other lions thought themselves brave to trek, a place others feared for it being haunted. Spending his life considered a ghost, and now he didn't mind it.
He looked suddenly at Nari, blinking. "A new... Name...?" He'd nearly forgotten the swamp pride's custom of taking on new names. Did this mean he'd have to go on a quest to find it? "I guess you're right... But... I don't know what it'd be..." It scared him, the idea of going out there... But then, he was able to handle meeting the lions of the swamp pride. He'd be able to handle going out into the roguelands.

Nari chuckled a little. "Nobody knows what it'll be until they get it - you've got it easy, though. You don't have to go out wandering around! Since you've pretty much already done all that."
"Of course, it's up to what Mother thinks, but you've certainly been here awhile."

Zimwi could only nod, remembering the time wandering. From the dying jungle, out into the plains, and then into the swamplands. It had certainly made him a stronger lion in character. "Yeah... I kinda don't fully intend to go out there again.. Not for a while, anyway..." He scratched at an itch, then stood up. "I should go find her, then..." The white male paused, ears flicking back. "Um... Would you happen to have a guess of where I should start looking...?" The swamps were big, and while a white lion certainly stood out... It was still hard to find someone amid all the islands and trees.

"Umm..." Nari thought for a moment, scratching behind his ear. "She's usually around the center somewhere?"

"Alright!" Shaking a last bit of mud and water off, Zimwi bowed his head a bit. "Thank you! And it was nice to meet ya, Nari!" Tail flicking, he turned and hurried off. Almost like a ghost, he vanished into the trees and swamp growth, off to seek the queen.
