They only wanted locals because they knew that if they just had a casting call, a lot of people from out of state would come and they needed people that lived in the area so that they could be used in the movie.

I wish that I were old enough, but they wanted high school peoples. That, and I don't live in Washington. I was suppost to, but I didn't get to. But, if I were old enough, I would have flown in and moved in with my mom's friend Ryan.
