Aushitia'moyo hummed to herself, perched on top of a stump of a long-passed tree. She had just found the comfortable perch this morning, and it seemed like the perfect place to let herself think. Thinking was something not new to the lioness, but that those thoughts were all happy was something definately new. Sure, handling five kids all on your own was difficult, and it was nice when Banji visited, but even with that it seemed like everything was good.

She dreaded the time when they would go out on their naming quests, though. She didn't understand yet if it was her sending them out, or if the Queen would, but all she knew what that it was going to happen way too soon. She kept up the song in her head, hoping to drive those depressing thoughts out with a soft, happy tune.

Roho's security was fragile at the moment. He felt that deep down, he truely loved Isha, but she seemed to get nervous whenever the real situations came up. Why? Was he trying to show her in the wrong way? Maybe....maybe he was being too direct about it. But he wasn't sure of any other way to show her that he really did care, and it was the truth. There were no lies behind it.

He stumbled over the lands he called home, following a very familiar path in his brain. To his right would be a broekn tree. To his left, a rather deep dip in the soft floor of the swamps. To the right again-

A lioness?

He paused, staring at the lioness that happened to jsut take his spot. He knew who she was, though, and so offered her a nod of acknowledgement.

"Aushitia'moyo," he spoke softly. "Afternoon." He wasn't in the most chatty mood.

Pity for Roho that Aushi was quite in a talkative mood. It always helped to cheer her up that she had no fear of speaking with others anymore, as long as she knew who they were.

"Roho~!" she cried, motioning him over to come sit by her. He was always so adorable, at least from far away. Pity she'd seen that other pretty female alwys around him. But, she was a little bit old for him, too. SHe'd seen many days, but hopefully had many more to see.

"Why do you seem so sad?" she cooed, hoping that he would open up. After the warm reception from Asali'jua, Aushi couldn't help but adore her two sons in a somewhat motherly way as well. She felt like she owed half of her new life to Banji, for her cubs, and the other half to Asali, for letting her start her life anew and fresh.

Roho sighed. Did he really have to? He didn't want to create any negative feelings, though, so he followed through with her request, and settled down net to her. It did beat wandering around aimlessly, but wasn't as good as being by himself.

Sitting there with the older lioness above him, it almost felt like he was lying with his mother. He couldn't help but begin to open up.

"Well...I'm worried about Isha," he admitted, though it pained him. He let his olive-coloured eyes linger away, soaking in all the details of the pile of mud before him. Fascinating, or at least he pretended that it was.

"Isha?" she asked patiently. "Is that the pretty lioness that follows you around everywhere?" It was probably because she didn't know anyone else around. Or else it could just be the fact that she really, really liked him. It was probably both, in Aushi's eyes.

"What is wrong? I'm sure situating to life here has been interesting. It took me a while, so I can agree with that. Would you like me to speak with her one time, see if she needs any help?" She licked her paw before rubbing at her ear, feeling a little bit of an itch there.

"Or do you thing it's something larger. Did she leave her family behind, and misses them?" Aushi....horribly missed Hifadhi. It would bring her nightmare on some night, but she knew that he was dead, and there was nothing more she could do. Aushi didn't have any family to miss, they all lived here with her.

Roho shook his head. "No, she never actually mentioned her family much. She...didn't say goodbye to them when we left, though. I don't know much about them."

Silence. He thought about everything she had ever said that he could remember, but she didn't give too many details about her past. What he knew was little, but that didn't matter. He still...felt completely wrapped around her. It was a strange feeling to him, but in some aspects it almost mirrored how he felt with his mother. But the shift from the center of his world changed, from his mother, to....Isha.

"I think she's settling in alright, but...sometimes I worry that she doesn't listen to me about some things. Like she doesn't believe me. Is it my fault? I worry about that...."

Aushi's ears perked up. What was that she heard? It sounded something deep. A little big more digging would help her try to figure out just what Roho couldn't figure out himself.

"So, there's some things that she just doesn't listen to you about? That's odd, sometimes it seems like she couldn't bear to leave your side." She tapped her paw against her chin, thinking.

Another thought. She looked very familiar, almost like Banji....she'd have to ask her if that name sounded familiar to her.

But back to what was obviously more important.

"First, Roho. This is a very important part. How do you feel about Isha. Do you love her?" She asked bluntly, only the way a mother could.

Roho could feel his cheeks flush as they grew warm. He was happy that his head was turned away from Aushi, as well as the angle hopefully kept any other bit of his head hidden. He didn't want to feel embarassed by showing this kind of emotion.

"Well.....er...." he struggled to admit it. Did he? He...must of. But what about his mother? Could he love Isha, but still love his mother? It was a thought that made his mind boggle.

"I think I do. But would loving her replace my mother in my heart?" It was holding him back from really telling her straight up that he loved her.

Aushi couldn't help put rest one of her paws on his head. He was such a sweetheart. Only Asali could raise a cub so pure of heart. She was happy to be able to see that a thing such as true love really did exist. Her past didn't let her believe it would ever happen to her, but.....it was refreshing to see Roho's heart so strong, and cautious. She could only pray to the spirits that her own children would fall in love such as that.

"Oh, Roho. Your mother will never be replaced in your heart. She will always be your first love. But you shouldn't let that hold you back, no. Isha sounds like your true love, and there is a difference. I'm sure Asali would step aside to see that happen."

She sighed, but it was a pleseant one. "You will understand some day when you have a family of your own. You would give your own life for their happiness, and I'm sure she could agree with me on that."

Aushi's words were simple, but true. They pushed back the haze that covered his mind, clearing the path for him to truely admit what he felt. Was life that simple? Perhaps it was.

He merely laid there for the moment, feeling to soft petting to his head from the older lioness. Why did it seem that sometimes you could get the best advice when you were simply not looking for it? Life worked in such funny little ways.

His mind drifted again to Isha. Alright, so he knew now. But how would he reassure her without scaring her away?

"Should I be blunt?" he asked to Aushi out of no where. He....still needed help.

Aushi removed her paw from his head, and drew it back to her chest, curled up in a cute shape with the other one. Again, it was reaffirmed in her mind that he truely was an innocent male. Did his naming quest make him grow up, or was he still trying to figure all of that out?

"Well, I'm sure if you just walked right up to her and told her she'd freak out!" she laughed, teasing him. If someone just did that to her, well, she would freak out too!

"Perhaps you need to first show her with your actions. Sure, you spend a lot of time with her, but that might not be enough. You should probably do things that might be more significant. Pay more attention to her, you'll see exactly what it is that she needs, and exactly what it is that she doubts." While reading another wouldn't be easy, she was sure that he could do it if he put his heart into it.

"More attention, huh..." That seemed like a lot of work. Would it actually work? He had no idea, but to try. But how to try?

He thought about it for a while. He knew that Aushi wouldn't mind, she seemed of the patient sort. Should he...try to tell her in a roundabout way? But what if that made her pretty nervous? Maybe...maybe he would give her something?

His olive eyes glanced around. Was there anything around here to even give her? He would have to search high and low to find anything here that Isha might find pretty. He did have to think about the lands outside of their pride, as she had grown up out there.

"Thanks, Aushi," he said as he pulled himself back up on all four paws. "I hope...I don't screw this up!"

The tan lioness laughed, humored by Roho. Such a silly boy, he was. "Well, alright then. Just don't come and blame me if you screw it up!" She couldn't help but tease him, knowing that he wouldn't screw up. He had too much of a sweet heart to ever do anything against the one he loved. Hopefully she would realize it and accept it, or else Aushi wasn't going to like this Isha very much.

Her tail flopped behind her as she watched Roho leave. "I'd best find one of my youngin's," she said to no one in particular. "Or even look for Kibeti. little bugger has been missing for far too long." But for the moment, she would stay where she was, relaxing in a place that she truely could call home.
