Sims2.com help!!!

i have never used downloads before (custom content), and decided i would look at some before getting any, but sims2.com wont let me! it says i need to create an "account" does anyone know what info this asks for? do i have to put in my game # (proof of purchase!)? because i really dont want to give that away. another thing, are the downloads free and safe for my game? I DONT WANT TO RISK MY GAME!!! last thing: how to they work *feels stupid*???

ALSO: will this make my game or computer slower!?!?

Well, adding CC can slow your game, depending on:
1. How much you download.
2. How big the files are
3. How good your computer (RAM size, video card quality, etc.) is.

Now, for making an account, it means like any account, like gaia, for example. And you don't need the proof of purchase: Remember how you have to type that big number when you installed the game ( XXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXX-XXXX )? You use the code from each EP you have, which shows up on your MySim page.
No, it's not needed to download.

And the downloads shouldn't cause any trouble in your game, unless they need an EP you don't have.

It's okay to give away the code to thesims2.com because the people who made the sims 2 made the sims 2.com . So it's safe to give it away. But don't give it away to any other site than thesims2.com.
