I HAVE cleft lip and cleft palate. It is NOT something to freaking abort a kid over! I'm living a very nice life, thank you very much!

I can understand if the kid was born with Tay-Sachs, or even a misshapen back. But a Cleft lip??? That's what Operation Smile is there for, but my mother said in her country (which is Vietnam btw,) is full of malnourished kids and are born w/ deformities, and still their parents kept them nontheless, why? Because they value their children above all things.

I'm from the UK and haven't heard of anyone doing that, although I know that they can. I agree it's stupid, cleft lip can be fixed without leaving much of a deformity at all...

Because this can be done past the normal late mark, for something that--in countries with the proper medical technology to take care of it--is just ridiculously simple to deal with.

Plus--to be completely honest--now that I've thought about it a bit, I'm also just incredibly insulted that these people are even calling what I've lived with all my life a "severe disability." I'M NOT DISABLED! -fume fume-

Pfft. That's a dumb reason to waste a life.

I mean, if it was before the age limit, I can understand, although it would still be sad.

But afterwards? sad Especially if that was in the UK, most people could afford to have it repaired.

Most of the time, it's not even a prominent problem.
