It was rare for Badiri to get out alone, with so many family members around, especially at night when you were supposed to be asleep. He was forced, therefore, to content himself with daylight and being out in the sun instead of specifically being out in the night. It wasn't so bad, but if this 'Great Lion' was so great- Badiri wanted to see him a bit more, and was starting to wonder why he couldn't just be out during the day. Trying to make the most out of the day, and find something decently amusing to do, Badiri hopped along through the grass. Maybe he could find some bugs to chase, or a bird to scare.. something!

The little pale yellow and blue female sprawled lazily atop a decent size boulder, her paws hanging off the sides, it looked extremely uncomfortable from all angles, as if she'd fallen there and couldn't move. She was quite used to being alone and found ways to entertain herself while her mother helped out amongst the pride. She still was grasping the concepts outlined to her, that Mama was slave, but because the great lion's eye was watching her that meant she was not a slave...what was she?
She blinked her firey eyes watching ants crawl across the ground, she wondered what it would be like to be an aunt, to live in little hills beneath the earth.

Indu stood out in the grass very nicely, yellow was a nice color to be in green grass if you wanted to be noticed. But then, it wasn't too hard to identify most of the pride members- only his siblings which were oddly green. But they weren't too bad. Compared to them, however, Indu was surprisingly easy to notice. A fresh sight for tired eyes.
"Huh," he wrinkled his nose when he saw the very uncomfortable position she was in. It looked very odd to be sitting there staring at the group, he almost wondered if she was hurt or something. If she did, he could help her maybe. If not, then she might be fun!
"Hey!" he called, leaping forward and accidentally landing right on the path the ants were taking.

Her eyes low and squinting at the ground she did not stand a chance at noticing the little male as he neared. his shadow startled her as it covered her trail of ants and she looked up just in time to become face to face with the pale cub.
"Hey yourself," she glanced back down to her ants and shrieked, "You stepped on my ants you dunghead!" She swore at him, saying a word that Nerit would certainly not approve of, "Look you've killed them all!" she grunted and sat up right superiorly towering over him.
"Who are you anyway?" she demanded trying to recognize who his mother and father were.

Because landing on the ants was only an accident, Badiri became very defensive when Indu suddenly shrieked at him for something he had not meant to do. Puffing up indignantly, forgetting almost immediately that she had in fact made a friendly enough greeting- until she saw the ants. He hadn't really hit that many of them! Most of them were scurrying away to avoid the giant cloudy paws that had blocked their path (and yes, killed several of them).
"I did not kill them all, they're all over the place!" he declared, stomping his feet for emphasis. He couldn't possibly have killed all of the ants, he'd seen some around before too- there were way too many for his small paws to get. Maybe his dad could, but even he'd have to try!
"I am Badiri," the cub answered, not entirely losing his defensive attitude where she was making demands, "Who are you?"

"Dunghead, it doesn't matter that you only killed a few, you still," she groaned, "you still killed some!" Heated anger rose in her chest and she tried very hard not to throw a temper tantrum, being an only child Nerit often let Indu get her way.
"I am Indu, not so nice to meet you Badiri," she glared at the other male and tumbled off of her boulder, "You're apart of that really big litter, aren't you? Mama says they were all born at bad time, not as bad as her though," she said matter-o-factly.
"I guess you didn't kill that many," she remarked and the heat rose to her cheeks in embarrassment, "But you should watch out, they're living too, just like us. What if a great big lion stepped on you?"

Badiri remained puffed up indignantly, trying to look big and intimidating- it wasn't much he could do for the argument, it had been an accident and that's all there was to it. She was overreacting. A lot! He glared back when she said it wasn't nice to meet him, and he almost got in a proud smile at the mention of his siblings before she mentioned how they were middle class.
"We were not born at a bad time!" he denied, "I bet you're worse than all of us." Badiri knew he shouldn't argue like that, but he wasn't going to just let her say mean things like that- especially about his family. He did look rather smug when she admitted that he had not actually killed many of them.
"There's only one of me," he pointed out, "It wouldn't happen so easily."

"I was born at one of the very best times, and I bet if something tried it could step on you, like an elephant!" she giggled and warmed up slowly she shouldn't be that angry anyways they were not her ants, they were just ants.
"Maybe we should put them back in the earth, you should say some words to say you're sorry as we dig a hole, you killed them after all," she eyed the white and blue cub a look that meant 'I wont forgive you that easily.'
"What do you say, we bury them?"

"Well, maybe a really stupid elephant," he agreed finally, though not willing to admit he could be stepped on as easy as he'd gotten the ants. If that was to happen, Indu would be in just as much trouble as him- she'd get stepped on too. He snorted when she suggested he apologize for killing them, he wasn't terribly keen on it- maybe if she'd been less angry and more sad about it, but as it was he was still in defense mode.
"It was an accident! You can bury them, I'm not saying sorry," he said defiantly, eying the small number of ants that had ended up beneath his paws, "I didn't mean to."

"Elephants can't be stupid, they never forget, sheesh, what kind of dunghead are you?" She giggled and then a feigned somber look came over her face as she mimicked what a sad mother would do if her children were killed. She leaned forwards, scraped an ant carcass off of is paw and gathered the rest in a pile.
"We're sorry aunts, that Dunghead was so stupid, please forgive his dumbness, even if he says it was an /accident/ and that he didn't /mean' to," she said in a feigned a sad voice.
she scooped earth over them slowly, and pretended to cry hoping he would fall for it.

"That's why it would have to be a really dumb one!" he declared confidently, losing interest in arguing with this stupid girl very quickly now. He sniffed angrily when she continued to call him 'dunghead', not caring for such a nickname at all. He watched her, though, with some interest in how she reacted at the little service for the ants. As she started to cry he decided to skip out while he was ahead, she might have been mean but at least he'd made her cry! Turning away, he made to walk away now.

Dropping her act she whiped around, "Where do you think you're going without saying goodbye? You're not very polite!" Haha, this rude little girl giving lessons on what's proper behavior seemed like a very large joke. She walked over to him haughtily.
"Say goodbye, and I'll let you leave," she crouched down meaning to pounce on him if he tried to get away, "Rude, rude, didn't your mama teach you different?" A firey twinkle was in her large red eyes, she was going to get the Dunghead afterall!
(God he'll never want to play with her again! XD Maybe they can meet again? In her juve years I want Nerit to put an end to her attitude once and for all. XD)

Badiri was startled when Indu suddenly appeared in front of him to stop him from going off without saying goodbye. He met her haughty gaze with one of his own, his nose held high despite knowing the difference in their class. He shouldn't have to be nice to someone so mean and bossy for no reason. He was going to just walk around her, but she crouched down as if to pounce. An actual fight wouldn't go over well- and Indu was a bit bigger than him, being an only cub and slightly older.
"My mama taught me fine," he argued, not liking the questioning about his family, "Funny that you call me names and make demands and say I'm rude! Now goodbye, Indu-" Badiri emphasized saying her name, where she repeatedly refused to acknowledge his- "I'm going home."

"What ever, Badiri, you're still rude for walking away, at least I would tell you goodbye, see you around," she huffed and straightened up her form no longer wanting to pounce him, he had a point, she was acting a bit mean, her mother had really been trying to teach her better, but being an only cub to a proud mother often let little things landslide into larger ones.
Huffily she walked around him and back to her rock, and her dead ants' funeral. She looked back over her shoulder at the pale blue and white male. Funny, I never seem to make friends, other lions must just be really dumb, she thought. yeah, real dumb.
"Stupid dunghead killing my ants," she muttered and turned back to her pile of ant carcasses and dirt.
