Ever wanted to hear your own music in the game on the Sims' radios but never been sure how to do it? Well its really easy!

First of all make sure your music is either a WAV or an MP3. If it isn't then you will have to convert it because Sims 2 can only read WAVs and MP3s.

Secondly locate the music folder found in My Documents> EA Games> The Sims 2> Music.

In there you will see a folder for every radio station and game mode (i.e. live, build, buy). All you have to do is open the folder of the channel you want your music to play under and then drop your music file in.
For example, if I have a pop song and want it to play on the pop station then I will put it in the Pop folder. You could put a piece of heavy metal in the Shopping folder if you want. Its up to you.

As simple as that!

The next time you run the game and switch a radio to your chosen station you should hear your own music play among the MAXIS originals.

Only if you have the FreeTime expansion pack. They added the ability to create new radio stations with that.

But in FT don't you have to be in-game to create a new station?
Or can you just create a new folder from scratch within the music folder?

It does have to be created in-game. You're right about that.

I have LimeWire. How do I only put in individual songs than the whole playlist?

If you only want to add one song into a station then just put that one song file into the music folder. I don't understand why LimeWire should stop you doing that.
If you mean you've downloaded a single file that is a lot of songs stringed together and you only want one of them in your game then you will need some sort of music editing program to cut out the bits you don't want.

I am the Mindfreak...There's no reality, only this world of illusions....

How do you convert music files to MP3?

All mine are mpeg4, or something.

You'll need to download a program that does it. There are probably lots of free ones on the internet. Just do a Google search.
I have just reread that the game also accepts .wav files though. I'll update the tutorial with that info now.
