"It's good you remembered how to find it," he commented, looking around the area they were in and trying to commit it to memory so that he might return at a later time. Feeling very childish all of sudden, he grinned at Aure at the idea of escaping from everything.
"We can use it like a little hideout," he said, sure something of this sort had come up before in their childhood. Especially where as a cub he'd been somewhat keen on avoiding his responsibilities, hiding away from his father (and his stupid brother) hadn't been terribly uncommon, "If we need time to ourselves, time not to worry about anything like escaped slaves or idiot brothers." He used recent examples of causes of stress to make his point. There was a time and place to feel normal, and away from the pride they had to lead properly just sounded best.

She laughed. "Yeah, just our little secret, huh?" she teased. She realized that Unyezi had been dealing with a lot and probably had quite a bit of stress built up. He needed some place like this a lot than she did. It moved her in a way, a feeling that he was a bit more vulnerable than she realized. Aureole walked over and rubbed her cheek on his. It was ok for him to relax and forget about his troubles. And it was important that he knew that someone cared about him, not wanting him to feel vexed.

"That's right," he confirmed with a smile, winking at Aure as she laughed. This was considerably nicer than worrying about everything that had been going on, and that had been his intention in coming to find her tonight. He was surprised to find he could use the cheering up as well, and even more so when Aure came over and snuggled against him. Smiling and relaxing a bit, he nuzzled against her with a happy sigh.

Aureole looked at him and then up at the sky. The moon was high in the sky. It was waxing at the moment, close to being full, but as serene as always. And then she looked back down at Unyezi smiling at him almost ironically. "It really is peaceful. Just you, me, and the moon." She smiled and looked around, never really exactly remembering what it had looked like last time. But this time, she'd form the memory, she decided. That way she'd remember it for the future. The way the moon looked almost blue, the wind very light and the night cool, not too cool. It was almost perfect. Except nothing was perfect.

Smiling at Aure, watching her look up for a moment before taking a look himself. It was a beautiful night, he hadn't even realized the night had really sneaked up on them now. When she commented on how peaceful it was, he nodded and took a seat carefully by her side. It was a better little night out than he could ever have planned.
"Mhmm," he agreed, voicing no more in case he ruined the moment.

She smiled at him quizzically not sure if she should bother to say something back. Here she was exposing more of herself than usual and all he could say was "Mhmm". It in itself could have ruined the moment if she let it. He was sort of silly in his own way by doing so. But she didn't dislike him. Sometimes she felt like they held themselves in and didn't expose themselves even to each other. And she had to admit that she was at least getting something out of him.

Unyezi was happy, just happy- considerably better than he had been for quite some time, and he truly meant no offense to Aure by saying nothing else to her. With a smile, he reached out and gently put one of his pale paws on Aure's dark paws.
"Let's stay here a while longer," he said, "It's nice. Now I'll have to think of somewhere really special to take you tomorrow."

She looked down at his paw on her's and blinked rapidly, her face getting hot. Aureole flashed him an awkward smile almost ready to laugh at the flush of embarrassment. She decided instead to focus on his comment. "You'd better~!" she exclaimed light-heartedly. Gosh, it sure felt good not to think about anything.END :B
