Unyezi nodded, happy she agreed that there was very little chance that she was actually ill. That would have been a much bigger problem than actually having cubs. He nodded when she smiled, however forced (and obviously so) it was and he too put on a small smile. Until she started looking around awkwardly and mentioned how they were supposed to get to this.

"Supposed to.." he trailed off, realizing that if she was having cubs, they would have an heir- which she was right, they were eventually supposed to have. Blinking, he realized the downside to this coming up so suddenly- they hadn't planned any of this, they would be lucky if this turned out how it was 'supposed to'.

"Aure," he mumbled, glancing back to her looking suddenly a bit concerned, "When did this happen? I- I mean- the moon, what was it?"

His question was so jolting that she didn't even have the chance to block the agonizing concern that crossed her face. She had been so busy not thinking about to wondering if she was to doubting to seriously considering that she hadn't bothered to think at all about that sort of thing. She knew what Njiru was like with his constant snobbery and vain attempts to get what he was forsaken at birth. Unyezi wouldn't want anything like the to happen to his children and the least she could do would be to make sure that was not the case.

She bit her lip. "Well... ah... I think it was close to full?" she wasn't quite sure when exactly or what that meant for the future. She had no experiences with pregnancies and didn't know what that could mean. Aureole would hate to imagine that she had dug themselves into a hole. But she was beginning to feel she had. She let out a long sigh. "What are we going to do?"

This was something Unyezi had been taught about during the time his father was around to train him, to prepare him for being king. It had been part of the awkward birds-and-bees conversation, but it was not something terribly uncommon to know in the upper class- especially with the royalty. It had also been part of the explanation about why Njiru was so stupid (Unyezi's words, not his father's, of course). And Aure was very right, he didn't want a situation like his and Njiru's for their cubs.

"Full moon?" he repeated, trying to place exactly when it was but they hadn't really thought of it at the time. It should have been nearer the new moon than the full moon, if they wanted to encourage full-moon offspring. He sighed, worried about it, "We- we'll have to figure something out, see what happens.."

Aureole hung her head clearly stressed out about it, feeling as though the mistake was all her fault. Which it might have been since many would argue it was her body. If anyone should have planned, it should have been her. After all, as Unyezi had pointed out, she was expected to be smart and intelligent, to work things out. So to know that she had possibly caused damage to how Unyezi wanted his offspring to come into the world - under a full moon - was upsetting to say the least. But maybe she was getting carried away. So since they had accepted that she was probably pregnant she could stop focusing on that and rather on what to do about it, to insure that they would be born of high birth. Was it possible to do so and still have healthy offspring?

"Yea, we'll figure something out," she murmured. Her eyes looked around blankly at the ground. "I need to think."

Unyezi did not blame Aure for any part of their situation, not alone- they'd both gotten rather carried away, and he couldn't deny that it hadn't been nice to feel comfortable and happy around Aure again. This wasn't something that should make them take a big step backwards, they were going to be parents together. He sighed deeply and nuzzled against Aure reassuringly, panicking now wouldn't do anything but make things harder for her, and she had to take it easy. If she was pregnant, they would deal with it- in the small chance she wasn't, well, they'd learned their lesson.

"It'll be OK," he said finally, decisively, trying to be optimistic.

Aureole willingly leaned into his nuzzle, drawing comfort from it. As he thought to himself she similarly did to herself the same thoughts. Lessons must be learned and they would learn it. And hopefully save it from being a mistake as well. She looked up at him, her eyes intense with determination. Even still, her voice sounded not so confident. "I certainly hope so."
