Okay so Fall Out Boy (and John Mayer) has redone Beat It, origionally by MJ. This song has been concidered a big part of music history. I, Being the big Fall Out Boy nerd that I am, Like it better. What do you random peoplez think?

That's been around for a while. :O
Anyway, I do like their version, it's pretty good. They also did Roxanne by The Poilice, it sounded very good. Listen to it! :3

I have had this song on my itunes foreverrrrr..... I love it. I think its a very well done cover.
When FOB does a cover, they do it well (take "Whats this" as another example!)

One of the problems with comparing the two versions is that one is a cover and one is the original. Because of this, they are two seperate genres and are targeted for two separate generations.
Fall Out Boy created a faithful adaptation of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" but also added parts to the song that Michael Jackson had never thought of (which happens when you cover a song that has been out for 25 years; you can make adjustments more easily).
Fall Out Boy did an amazing cover of "Beat It" but it is unfair to both parties to say one is "better" because they are so different.
(However, this is not true in the case of FOB's cover of "Love Will Tear Us Apart". That was a case where Patrick does not sing that low and should not have attempted to.)
