&&;It's little longer than anything I've written so bear with me.
The Fire Breathing Dragon

The fearful dragon approaches,
As a crowd of warriors crouch.
A battle in the eye of the storm,
Calmness in our hearts is torn.
Adrenaline rushes through hot veins
Pupils dilated, focused on gains.
Hands reached forward for swords.
The dragon roars and strikes a cord.
Our warriors ready for the fire,
Swords drawn and pressed against wires,
Fierce and tireless for weeks on end,
Perhaps the battle shall be won as friends.
Hands held for hopes of victory,
Fire spreads, the illusion shattering,
Scorched skin, torched hopes,
Can we ever believe to cope?
As all seems to be lost,
The dragon's powers appears not,
At last, hope is in our reach.
No longer is the blood-sucking leech.
The head of the dragon off,
Limbs of the dragon cut,
Shouts of elation roars;
Spirits of our warriors soar.
Victory sought after is ours,
Waiting at the end of midnight hours.
Blood dripped, sweat poured,
Now the memory is stored.
