First of all, jokes are not forbidden, some jokes are forbidden ( that talk about Allah, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) or anything that concerns it). A laugh is good, but too much laughter is not really that nice.
Seriously, how much is too much? I want to see a measurement of this. And how do you define it, and what justifies your answer?

If you really want to laugh, there are millions of things that can make you laugh besides religon.
I find religious jokes to be some of the best jokes I've ever heard. I crack up when I hear people making fun of Catholics, because there's usually some merit of truth for their jokes (and we get it in a whole different way than those making fun of us do, which makes us laugh harder...those of us who do enjoy humor, or are just plain drunk xd ). In fact, that's usually how most religious jokes go.

Do you want to get in the mistake of mocking your own religon?
I just tell people I enjoy my faith to a whole new level.
I had to laugh with the Simpsons perspective of Catholic Heaven (full of wild partying) Does that image of Catholicism bother me? No. I find it amusing and hilarious (because depending on what region you're from, it's true!)
