How do I change this family tree?

Well, I was trying to move my sim Oden out of collage. I had only ever put one other sim thru so I messed up. what happened was when it was time to move out I moved him into the family bin. It deleted all his relationships, even his family. Even later when he seen his brother, Loki, and regained a relationship with him it didn't mark him as family. My question it how do I fix it so he’s part of the family again?

You would either have to use SimPE
or
go through boolProp and use the option to add a neighbor to your family.

Yes, you can change a sim's relationship with another sim using SimPE provided they have met each other.
SimPE is a very worthwhile tool, I came across it when I had a similar problem to yours and I've been using it to fix and tweak things in my game ever since!

I'm more concerned about his relations being wiped just because you stuck him in the Sim bin. I thought Sims in there were meant to keep their relationships so you can move them from house to house.

You say your Sim is not marked as family but is in the family tree so does that just mean there is no family symbol on his picture in the relationship panel? If so that can easily be fixed with SimPE.
You can open the relationships of different Sims and it lets you mark if they are family. It also lets you mark if they are enemies, friends, best friends, have a crush, are going steady, are in love, are engaged or are married.

SimPE is a great tool for fixing little errors that occur.
