Pets Question

If I was to breed my cats, would the kittens have mixed traits from the parent, kinda like how the sims are, or will it just turn out to look like one of the parents.

I tried breeding dogs once and all the puppies grew up to look like the mom when the parent dogs were completely different of eachother.

As far as I know the offspring will only take after one parent. I could be wrong as I've only ever had one litter in my game and they haven't grown up yet but thats how I believe it is.
I sem to remember somebody at S2C saying their pups only took after the dad.

I've had puppies and kittens in my game though that look like a mixture between both! Or that look like neither.

None of the kittens or puppies the pets in my game had looked like one parent. From what i remember, they were always a mixture of both. I havent made my sims have pets recently

If this is the first generation of pets that you are playing with they will take the dominate gene, or the gene of the father.
If you're playing with multiple generations of pets, well, that's where it gets tricky and you might want to break out the Pennett squares.
With multiple generations they can either take the dominant gene or a recessive gene.
It's really hard to predict.

My litter finally grew up. They definately take traits from BOTH parents.
