I'm not sure where to put this...so I'm just sticking it in the main forum.

Here goes...

In a screenplay, if a character apears first in dialogue do you still capitalize his name the first time he appears in an action? Ex:
----------------

.................................EXAMPLE CHARACTER (O.C.)
.......................Now you see how it works?

CLOSE ON: A pair of rusty scissors on the ground. A black gloved hand reaches down and gropes for them.

CRANE UP: past the hand to the gaunt face of EXAMPLE CHARACTER.
................(Do I need to capitalize the name here?^)
-----------------
(The little dots are for indentation holders because gaia won't keep the format.)

As far as I know, it varies, some people like to do it to help point out which character the shot emphasis should be on in multi character wide shots.

In scripts you capitalize their name the first time they appear in each scene.
I studied drama but I dont know if its the same for screenplay.
