Thinking of getting a Golani

I'm thinking of going a little weird and buying a Golani... its a "sporterized" version of the Israeli Galil. but really there's no difference.

Since I don't know anything about them my views are only on aesthetics.

It looks pretty cool and I like those type of sights.

Side folding stock... another cool thing, even better if it still fires with it folded.
Yaknow in case you don't have time?

Plus it looks good in synthetic furniture.

Also it's in .223 which is fairly popular. So it's not too costly right?

This is a remanufactured semi-auto version of the Galil Assault Rifle ( http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/small_arms/galil/Galil.html )

Based on the AK-47, it's a standard milspec assault rifle. Some have dumped on it due to issues I've never seen documented.

the Galil is essentially a perfected AK, with superior sights, better gas work, better accuracy, etc. It pretty much takes all the bad things out of the AK.

Go for it, if you want. I was considering one too possibly.
