Furuba: A Twist of Fate

Legend tells of a second cursed family but nothing like the Sohmas. Or at least not like the Chinese Zodiac. This family is all cursed with a feline figure. This is the Mao family and they have lived in China for many centuries.
The whole history of the Mao family is filled with people who have had the ability to change into felines when hugged by a member of the opposite gender, in great sickness, or when their loved ones were in grave danger. But with their gift came a curse. All of them had a demon shape which had to be sealed by special beads so they would not ramapge the villages.
But 500 years ago, they lost one of their own. While being hunted from their village the domestic cat was lost in their escape. They searched desperatly for the beautiful maiden who the Lion had fallen in love with. But they never found her...
Now 500 years in the future, the present time, the Mao family is still on the hunt. They have always been looking for the Domestic Cat since the horrible day when she dissapeared. And now their search has brought them to Japan. But this isn't the same family. Rather a whole new generation of Mao's. But the Lion's will is strong and he still wishes to bring his ancestor's long lost love back to the family. And so now as they land upon Japanese soil, they have no idea their goal is right there in the same city that they have landed in.

Meanwhile in the Sohma estate, the cat by the name of Kyou Sohma is still being treated like trash... But is he really who he thinks he is?
Their legend has it of a cat being excluded from the Chinese Zodiac. But who really knows when the cat showed up...? Well...the Mao's do. Their own domestic cat who was lost 500 years ago wound up on the shores of Japan. She was taken in by a Sohma who found the girl had no memories of who she was or where she had come from. And the man who had rescued her was cursed as well. He was the Sohma rat. And though many thought the rat and cat could never get along, these two fell in love. The cat took on the name of Sohma and since then some magical force transferred the domestic cat's curse over to the Sohma family.
Some people may say it was Kuroshi Mao's love of the Sohma Rat that made the domestic cat transfer. Others may suggest it was simply because her own child with the Sohma Rat was a domestic cat that it stuck to the Sohma name. And still even some may say that it was because Kuroshi Mao didn't know who she was that since she took upon the Sohma name, so did her curse. Whatever the reason, whatever the way, it doesn't matter now. All that matters is bringing the Domestic Cat home to live by the Lion's side like it should have been 500 years ago.
The only problem? Lion is a male...

【The No Duh】To start off with, you all should know to follow Gaia's rules, so you need to keep everything PG-13 on the romance level. Cursing is fine but this does not mean you can go over board with it all. Keep everything proper for our pre-teen members.
【Action】Romance is nice but not needed. This is Furuba after all. There can be small fights, bashing [Between characters, not those who play them], and the like. But do not kill another person's character. Period.
Also, in lue of romance... Please keep this mostly heterosexual. I like to stay true to how canons were created and meant to be. I am not saying there can't be homosexual or bisexual OCs, just no canons unless they were made that way.
【Characters】All characters are to be posted in the OOC. When they are accepted I'll post them in the Character Thread.
There shall be no overly anything original characters.
【Reservations】You may have a reserve for two days and then the spot becomes open again.
You can't reserve a spot two times in a row and a spot may only be reserved three times before it's open period to whoever puts in a profile first.

【Corrections】Since I am sure I have missed a few things here, I will be updating these rules when I think of something. New sections will be in darkred for one week and then go to black like everything else.

God/Lion - Heng-You Mao ~ Kisitiene
(Panthera leo)
Height At Shoulder: 1m (3ft 3in)
Body Length: 2.5m (8ft 4in)
The Lion usually hunts at night and sleeps for about 21 hours each day. Its roars can be heard
up to 8km (5 miles) away. Lions live in family groups called "prides". A pride is made up of
female relatives and their young, with one or more male adults.

Bobcat
(Lynx rufus)
Height at shoulder: 22in
Length: up to 1m (3ft 3in)
The Bobcat's spotted coat blends in with a rocky or forested background, enabling the animal
to creep up on it's prey without being seen. The Bobcat usually hunts rabbits and hares
but will eat almost any reptile, mamal, or bird. It can even kill a deer, which provides
enough food for a week or more.

Cheetah

Body Length: 2.2m (7ft 6in)
Tail: 76cm (2ft 6in)
The Cheetah relies on short bursts of incredible speed to catch its prey. It can sprint at more
than 100 kph (62 mph) over short distances, but tires easily. It grips the throat of it's prey
with its long, pointed canine teeth. Its razor-sharp back teeth slice meat off the bones.

Jaguar
(Panthera onca)
Height At Shoulder: 2ft 4in
Body Length: up to 5ft 9in
The Jaguar is the largest cat in South America. Unlike the Leopard, it has black marks inside
each ring of spots. Its coat acts as comouflage in the forest, and it can creep up on the
animals it hunts without being seen.

Leopard

Body Length: up to 1.9m (6ft 3in)
Tail: up to 1.4m (4ft 6in)
The Leopard is so strong that it can drag the dead body of an animal weighing almost as
much as itself. It stores large items of food in the branches of a tree to stop other animals
from stealing its meals. The Leopard's prey inclused antelopes, monkeys, birds, fish, and
snakes. Unlike most other cats, the mother leopard dows not teach her cubs how to hunt.
They have to learn how to fend for themselves and are not able to survive without their mother
until they are 18 months.

Mountain Lion
(Felis concolor)

Body Length: up to 5ft
The Mountain Lion (Also called the Puma or Cougar) often stalks deer at night. it creeps up on
its prey and then pounces from an overhanging tree or rock. Holding on with its long, sharp
claws, the mountain lion kills its prey with a bite through the neck.

Ocelot
(Felis pardalis)
Body Length: up to 4ft 3in
Tail: up to 15in
The beautiful Ocelot has become very rare because its forest home is being destroyed
and because it is hunted for its fur. Each cat has a different pattern of marking on its coat.
The Ocelot is an excelent climber and swimmer. It comes out at night to hunt for birds,
snakes, and small mammals.

Pallas's Cat

Tail: up to 31cm (12in)
Pallas's car has very long, dense fur, especially underneigth its body, which held to keep out
the cold. The cat has a flat head and its eyes are positioned aslmost at the top of its forehead.
This enables it to peer over rocks to look for its prey without being spotted. Pallas's cat
comes out at night to hunt for birds and small mammals, such as mice and hares.

Sand Cat - Reserved

Body Length: up to 57cm (22in)
The Sand Cat has thick fur under its feet. The fur helps to stop it sinking into the soft sand
and protects it from the heat of the sand. When it hunts, its large ears enable it to hear
and locate animals from a long ways off.

Snow Leopard
(Panthera unica)
Body Length: up to 1.5m (5ft)
Tail: 90cm (3ft)
The powerful Snow Leopard, or ounce, feeds on wild sheep and goats, which it hunts up to
5,500m (18,000ft) up in the mountains. In winter, it follows its prey down in the forests. It has
long, thick fur to help it keep warm and broad feet which stop it sinking into the snow. Adult
Snow Leopards usually live alone, roaming around their huge territories.

Spanish Lynx

Tail: 8cm (3in)
The Spanish Lynx was once widespread but its numbers have been drastically reduced
because of hunting and the destruction of its forest habitat. Today it is only found in remote
mountainous areas and in the Coto Donana reserve. The lynx lives alone and hunts for small
mammals and birds at night.

Tiger Cat

Height At Shoulder: 30cm (12in)
Body Length: 70cm (2ft 3in)
The Tiger Cat is a pouched mammal which comes out mainly at night to hunt. Its jaws can
open very wide and it has big, pointed teeth. The Tiger Cat has sharp claws and ridged
pads on its back feet, which help it to climb trees.

Wild Cat
(Felis Sylvestris)
Body Length: up to 2ft 6in
Tail: up to 15in
The Wild Cat is closely related to the Domestic Cat but it is slightly bigger and has a thicker
tail with black rings on it. But it's closest relative would have to be the Sand Cat. The
Wild Cat hunts at night for small mammals, birds, and insects. The forests provide it with
cover for hunting.
