Help on downloading

YAY! Ok so I finally got internet on the computer I play sims on! So I went crazy downloading items, and sims, and I went onto my game to play, but none of it is on there =(.

Ok so heres what I did

I downloaded everything into my documents/ea games/sims 2/downloads.

Isn't it supposed to automatically go to my game? How do I do it?

It doesn't automatically go into the game, you have to install. Many people, myself included, use Q-Express, which can be found on MTS2. But it has some problems with Vista-I have to reinstall it every time I use it, because it's always uninstalling itself. Some people also use Winzip/rar.

If they were rar/zip files, you have to unpack them into the folder first.
If they were sims2pack files, then you have to click on it and install. If you have Vista that can be a bit of a hassle (Lagged mine for AGES).

ok I got it now, I had to download like three different things from the microsoft website!

with a windows zip file you can cop ythe file inside and paste it in downloads..
