Okay, so maybe I'm overreacting a bit, but not only did this make me s**t my pant paughing, but if made in a larger calibur could very well prove excelent in a zombie pinch

5.56 cherry PIE is better.

I don't think you'll get nearly enough penetration with those.

You can't even use it for scavenging squirrels, maybe coyotes, but not squirrels. That round's to be used getting the pelt, nothing else. You'd destroy all of the meat inside.

A typical M196 tracer would have nearly the same effect.

I'm sure a 36-grain .223 round can still penetrate a human skull, even if it's all copper. Especially one that is partially decomposed. And the amount of trauma that b***h would cause to the brain... damn.

I still think .223 ball is the absolute best against zombies. Light weight, perfect for hits to the skull, cheap. Like a .22 but with a ton more power. It's ideal for the situation. That Varmint Grenade would have very limited range because of such light weight and be quite expensive, not to mention it has zero penetration so don't think you could pierce light cover or get more than one kill per bullet. In swarms, you'd want your bullets to be able to go through a skull and then maybe another.

I don't think so. I think it'd start mashing once the tip hit the fore head, sending that metallic dust around the skull. Still hurt, but I dun think that it'd penetrate.

'

I'd beg to differ, but even so, copper dust or not; it's still slamming a 36-grain projectile into a human skull at nearly 3800 fps... That would cause massive traumatic damage to the frontal lobe from the impact alone; which could easily, depending on what scenario we are discussing, neutralize the zombie.

Fair enough.

I just fail to see why this would be enough merit instead of your standard FMJ, SP, or HP, especially against targets > 100 pounds. The way I see it, you could just buy normal ammo, save cash, and buy a little more ammo. Besides; you can only buy this ammunition in bullets alone, atleast in the websites I found selling the product.

Be an example to your men,
in your duty and in private life. Never spare yourself,
and let the troops see that you don't in your endurance
of fatigue and privation.

xd Last night I had a dream in which I was using this kind of ammunition and doing so much silly shenanigans with it. xd

Always be tactful and well-mannered and teach your
subordinates to do the same. Avoid excessive
sharpness or harshness of voice, which usually
indicates the man who has shortcomings of his own to hide.

I never said it was the most effective round, or even my own personal choice. I'd go with my M193s. Black Hills sells ammunition re-manufactured with Barnes bullets if you did ever want to try them out without hand-loading.

lol i love it when the ground hog got shot but yeah i think so too but do you really have to make the head explode ? i mean why not have a bullet that could go through the head and enter another

Looks like fun but a .50 cal or .45 Long Colt kicks more a**...right before completely obliterating it. but if you dont want to carry the weight of those slugs, a .22 long rifle goes into the skull, but cant exit so it just riccochets around the skull, giving them one hell of a headache.

Personally, if I could stay as far the hell away as I could, I'd want a Barret M109. Kicks like a mule, and the 25mm rounds are big, but they're also explosive.

If closer in, I'd go for .45 ACP. Nothing says "******** you" quite like an 11mm slug in the brain.

Of course, a Raging Bull or Model 500 would be nice, but they've got massive recoil.
