Blue was not really sure how to take care of a child. He was self-sufficient, yes, but the most child-like thing he was used to taking care of was Tsar. Tsar would just try to avoid taking his medication and would wander off sometimes, and that was about the extent of it. He could make his own food, get dressed, everything like that. Blue didn't even really have pets. Well, he had a cat once, but all he had to do was feed her twice a day and she was happy. But Nevada?

Nevada was trouble.

The small boy had started wailing for the fifty-millionth time that morning. "WHAT?" Blue demanded, hands over his ears. "WHAT NOW?" He had feed Neva, clothed Neva, even changed the tiny menace. He had no right to be screaming like a banshee. (That in itself was strange, because the child was usually quiet, abnormally so.) He whipped around and stormed down the hall, cursing the universe as he went. Life was so unfair, he mused, opening his roommate's bedroom door. "ALEX. Help me. Please!" Anything to make that brat stop crying.

Alex, for her part, was doing the best she could given the circumstances. She knew the boys were special; Aure had told her so, and seeing that the boys had been born in their freezer, she was just about willing to believe anything. She was sitting quietly in her window seat, looking out over the street, lost in thought. Solomon lay against her shoulder, held tightly in her arms, alternating between dozing and staring at the Italian with curiosity.

She turned her green eyes over to the man as he burst into the room. Usually she would have snarled at him for not knocking, but apparently 'motherhood' had mellowed her out to a degree. "Blue, for goodness sake, grow a pair. It's a baby." Okay, maybe not so mellow. Alex stood with a sigh, looking at her bright-eyed baby, who grinned toothlessly at her. Smiling she moved towards Blue, arching her neck to kiss his cheek, hopefully confusing him enough to press Solomon into his care as she squeezed by him and on to his room.

"Oooh, Neva," she cooed at the wailing baby, picking him up gently and cradling him against her ample bosom. "Little love, is Blue being a meanie to you again?" She was practically purring at the babe, kissing his brow sweetly.

Solomon, for his part, was simply staring at Blue with wonder. He giggled and grabbed Blue's nose, fascinated.

Blue blinked, about to snap something rude, but Alex sauntered over and gave him a kiss. And the other baby. Damnit. How did she do that? Sneaky, sneaky Italian. Blue sighed and looked down at Solomon, shaking his head. "How did she end up with the quiet one, hmm?" he inquired. At least Sol was all smiles and sunshine. Easy enough to take care of while Alex quelled his squalling brother.

Neva did not quiet right away, closing his eyes and sniffling as he grabbed Alex's shirt and whimpered. He crooned, lip quivering as tears rolled down his pudgy cheeks. He did not like Blue very much. He was hot, very hot. Neva liked cool. Too much and too loud. A baby could only take so much.

Meanwhile, Blue carried Solo into the same room as his brother. "Well, punk, maybe you can make your brother- Hey!" Blue blinked down at Sol and gently tried to pull his face away from the tyke's hands. "Uh. Don't do that, please."

"I know love, I know," she murmured softly against the baby's hair, cradling him and rubbing his back soothingly. Her eyes shifted towards Blue and Solomon as they entered, unable to stop the smile that formed at the older man's awkwardness. He really was too much of a child to be taking care of other children, but she knew that wasn't entirely true. He had Tsar, after all. That made Alex chuckle a bit, looking back to the tot in her arms. She moved one hand to gently wipe away his tears, kissing his small nose. "I know he's difficult, but he means well, believe it or not."

Solomon squealed softly and laughed, clapping his hands together and Blue's expression. At his mother's voice, he turned his head, and immediately calmed at the sight of his brother. He pressed his chubby cheek against Blue's shoulder, watching his Guardian and twin peacefully, one pudgy hand extending towards them thoughtfully.

Alex smiled. "He likes you, at least," she commented, hand moving from Neva's face to his hair, brushing through it in a calming motion. "Blue, they're babies. You just have to show them some love and care. They depend on us just to survive." She kept her voice low, the wintery twin nestled against his chest, her expression one of gentleness. She wasn't actually expecting the man to own up to responsibility, but it was a nice thought. Somewhere, she believed he'd make an excellent father, if he tried.
