Warning, long post is looong.
And a variety of subjects that fall under the same genre.
Bare with my rambling xDD
Forum wars. Some of you may notice them, some may participate, and some may sit in the side lines and laugh their a** off. Or not notice them, that's an option too.
Either way, they are when one forum on gaia decides to "raid" ie spam or troll another one for a variety of reasons. I've heard of ones between the GD and the GCD, GD and the ED, all consuming a whopping five minutes total of people's times and attention span. Well today I witnessed one between the a/m/c (Anime/manga/comics, I've been chillaxing there the past few weeks.) and the GD. And I was in the third category ie lurking the entire thing and laughing my a** off.
On the one hand, the a/m/c has a spam problem that doesn't seem to be going away. This incident didn't exactly help. On the other hand seeing an a/m/cer acting like a fantard of anything (they chose naruto) was funny as hell. Especially since the majority of a/m/cers aren't weaboos, nor do they even like naruto. The incident got me thinking though. I haven't been to the GD on a regular basis in a good two years, ever since it became apparent the mods didn't give a s**t. So lurking about due to the "forum war" (which lasted about ten minutes.) was a weird experience. Basically, I found out they think a/m/cers are all weaboos who go crazy over naruto. The GD still thinks that they are the s**t and that other forums worship them. Other GDers hate the GD but still stay. /B/ was mentioned...somehow. Some people in there will do things 4 the lulz but can't take a "raid" themselves. Some people, on both sides, have this imaginary "forum line" that people cannot cross over;
A GD member must stay in the GD, and if they wander away they're a [insertforum]f** and the like. An a/m/cer just better stick to the a/m/c. And I know from lurking the GCD that there are people there who have that forum line too, and keep it crossed over things like the a/m/c, AT, GD, ED, etc.
And then when the GD did a "backlash" and posted spam (we got a porn troll or two too.) I just went about reporting, the a/m/c has enough spam as it is, even though this spam was funny as hell. But in reporting I also checked the mods list.
No one was online. This was at seven/eight o'clock too. So I've been checking it every once in awhile, and it alternates. The most I've seen online were 5 but all of them are online for only 5 or so minutes. Which answered my "Why is there so much spam in the a/m/c?" question.
If you wish to skip my rambling, here are some spoons
(Which people think are a GCD making, but it was the GD that started it XD )

Forum raids are stupid and pointless. We're all part of the same site, so why can't we accept it?
The A/M/C (My new home forum, I got really pissed off with the GCD) does have a lot of narutards and spam, but it's not totally bad. One of the reasons I left the GCD though is because it's just a cesspool of people stroking their e-nis and trying to get their internet fame.
I think the mods do excellent jobs. The problem is people that don't report and egg the trolls on.

I have pride in the A/M/C, not all of us are stupid Narutards who don't think there's any other anime.
As said before, I hate the GCD. xD
Too many people think that the A/M/C is all Narutardation. I'm telling you, there's plenty of literate genuine discussion. Even some Naruto related threads are good!
When people enter a forum as their home, they adopt the general personality of that forum. It's pretty strange, but that's kinda what happens. And some people don't like other's personalities, which is a forum, in this case. That's usually what keeps us apart.

Blue- I figured the GCD xDD
I dunno, I think the forums have deteriorated xD At least some of the bigger forums, which is probably a good chunk of why.
Amy- Heh, I know. The a/m/c has it's naruto spam, but it's usually by people who stop by once, proclaim their love, and move on. The people who actually stay and like naruto will have discussions on Naruto, not just "I luv saske, he is so sxxyy!!1!!!" xDD
That's why I left the GD several years ago. I haven't hung around the GCD in awhile, but that sucks if it's happening there too. Though I do remember a couple incidents about it for the past two or so years xP
Calisto- Jeez, a week to delete a topic. That's crazy xD Though I remember from a year or so ago a mod pointing out that the reported threads had a month backup.
And, that's cool that you're in a place that behaves themselves xD
