Okay, I'm looking at Duracoat, and it's pretty cheap in small quantities. I'm looking for a way to strip the bullshit spray paint (Rust-Oleum Appliance Epoxy. Not actual epoxy, but whatever) so that I can apply the Duracoat. Problem is, it's on my AR, which has a synthetic stock known to melt in the presence of certain chemicals. I'm looking to strip this off without totally KO'ing my rifle. If need be, I suppose I can buy new parts, but I'd rather not.

And if you didn't guess, I'm gonna Duracoat all the plastic bits white again. The metal stays black.

I would try sanding off the Durocoat with very fine sandpaper.
