Personality: Observant. This cub uses his dark coat to blend into the shadows so that he can learn things that he might not be told straight out otherwise. A bit of a sneak, I'm certain he'll someday get into trouble for it, but until then... (aka, I suck at writing personality blurbs for cubs because I like seeing them develop through RP. <3)

He'd waited and waited for the rest of his family to fall asleep, holding perfectly still until the sounds of breathing evened out and the movement ceased beside him. Brothers asleep, check. Obnoxious sister asleep... Check. Mother? Yes, even his mother seemed to be sleeping which was perfect for what he had in mind.

He pushed himself up onto awkward paws slowly, his movements halting with every shift he thought he felt. If someone woke up this would just start all over again; the waiting and the planning... Carefully he stumbled free from the pile of cubs, turning to glance back at them for a brief moment. Still asleep... He was safe, for now.

He tried to keep his movements silent as he wandered through the foliage, nearly jumping out of his skin each time he heard a leaf rustle. Was someone after him? Had his mother noticed him missing? No, if she had he was certain he would have heard something by now; her voice calling after him... Something.

The shadows loomed ahead of him, a darkness that he was almost afraid of. Fear of it was something that he was going to have to overcome if he was going to live up to his name. He was a shadow. He should know all about this sort of thing and he should be able to face it.

Closing his eyes after taking a deep breath he did just that, charging forward into the night to face his own shadow and every other shadow out there. He'd grow up to be big and strong and he wouldn't be afraid of anything. He'd explore until he was familiar with every inch of the darkness and then, then he'd go back home and sleep until noon.
