"Ahh..." Isithunzi said happily as she lay in the shade. One of her favorite spots from cubhood had survived the plague and was still here all of these moons later: A spot where a tree grew very close to the water's edge. At high tide, the water could tickle the tree's trunk, but most of the time it was a couple of yards from where the lake's edge was. When she was a cub, it was here that she would meet her friends to play, but now that she was an adult she found it a very wonderful place to relax. If one wanted sunlight, all they needed to do was to move. Her tail flicked lightly as her rosy eyes settled lazily on the water.
"This is the life..." She'd taken her drum and rested it near the base of the tree, the cubs were all busy playing, and her older litter were out and about on their own. Life was good.

Mawi Mai flicked her tail behind her as she walked. She was bored out of her mind. She hadn't seen Taka around and she really never had any interest for her other siblings. Aapep was gone to. That made her even more worried, he was going some where with his mother, she missed him a lot... she had no clue why.
She sighed and flicked her hair out of her eyes, heading toward the beach. As she looked up she noticed a gray figure... Her mom. She smiled as she picked up her pace a bit. "Hey mom!" She called out with a smile.

Isithunzi smiled as soon as she heard her daughter's voice. She turned her head toward her daughter, Mawi with a happy smile. She had a feeling that Mawi wouldn't chew on her, for which she was grateful. She was glad to see her daughter's face... She was always glad to see her cubs... Even if they were fully grown adults. "How are things lately, Mawi?" Isi said warmly, eyes following her daughter's approach.
She couldn't believe she was an adult. Not that she didn't expect her to make it to adulthood, but... Geez, where had the time gone? Her tail flicked lightly as she shifted to more face Mawi.

Mawi Mai grinned as her mother turned toward her. She flicked her tail behind her and tossed her hair out of her eyes as she flopped down in front of her mother.
"Nothing much. I havn't seen Taka around, today." She let out a small sigh then shrugged. "And my good friend Aapep went with his mom to go some where. He didn't tell me where or why." She made a small face. "I really miss him. I think I told you about him. Aapep? The little stripped cub, he wants to join the pride when he comes back." She smiled then looked up at her mom. "What about you mom?"

Isithunzi nodded with a smile. "Yes, Taka's been running about a lot lately... She's been taking particular care of Hakuna, for which I'm grateful." She said. Older litters made for good cubsitters. "She'll be less busy soon, I'm sure. I'll have to steal Haku away from her for a few days so she can get a break!" She said with a little chuckle.
Isithunzi thought back at that name... Oh yes, that one! "Ah, Aapep." She said. "I know about him, but not as much as I think there is to know," Isithunzi said, voice lightly sing-song with friendly mocking. "I'd like to meet him sometime, perhaps as a way to help him in his ambitions of joining the Pride?" She suggested, tone growing more serious.
"And I'm not up to much... Helping the Pride's Juveniles with drum quests, watching over your half-siblings... And relaxing here at this spot, it holds many memories..." She said, unsure if she'd ever shared stories about this spot with her cubs.

Mawi Mai made a small face at her sister and Haku getting along. She wasn't really that big of a fan of many of the cubs. She was so used to it just being her, Taka and her mother. No little cubs around. "Haha. You should. It'd let me kidnap Taka back." She laughed a bit, but she was a bit more serious.
At her mom's tone she blushed a bit then ducked her head. "Maybe..." She murmured lightly but then sat up. "I hope so. I want him to meet you and Taka. I also want to meet his mom." She smiled nodding. "When he comes back."
Then she smiled. "Yeah. I love seeing the Juveniles out on the drum quests. I love anyone learning about their rhythms." A small sigh escaped her mouth. "I'm sorry I'm not much help Ma..." She shifted her feet but then her ear's perked up. "Really? You used to spend time here? What kind of Memories?" She asked her mom quickly. She didn't know that much about her mom when she was here a long time ago.

"You don't need to worry about helping me out with the cubs... It's not like they're yours," she said. She supposed Taka must have felt obligated to help for some reason... That, or Haku simply abducted her and she felt she couldn't fight it, since he was a cub. That was more likely, in her mind. Isithunzi knew how close Mawi and Taka were, she doubted that Taka would fully-willingly decide to separate from her sister.
"Yes... I would certainly like to meet this Aapep. It'd be interesting to see what songs he knows, and what songs I could teach him." She wouldn't give him a drum quest until he joined the pride, but she could let him play on her drum.
"Oh yes... When I was a cub, this is where my friends and I would play." The unspoken words of before the plague hit hung heavily in the air. But she didn't let that dampen the mood entirely. "It's always been a favorite spot of mine, we'd get together and swim, play tag, you know what cubs get up to," she said. "Nobody knew about it but us." A reminiscent smile spread on her muzzle at the memory.

Mawi Mai nodded to her mothers comment. She knew they wern't her cubs and she was telling herself that all along. She wasn't sure why she didn't like the much. Was she jelous? She wasn't sure at all. She shifted a bit thinking before looking at her mother again.
"Songs..." She started thinking again, making a small face. "I'm pretty sure he would be very willing to learn songs. But I belive he is more interested into dance, when I first met him he was sorta dancing. When I started with my drum, he pulled the steps together it was wonderful!" She loved seeing others learn of music or just enjoy it. "He told me Jiza was helping him." She nodded still smiling.
"Ahhh..." She could imangine her mother as a little cub, dnacing around, swiming with her friends. "Kinda like me and Taka's friends." She looked around. She noticed the smile on her mother and she smiled herself. It was good seeing her happy.

"From the sound of it, this Aapep is pretty talented!" Isithunzi said. She could do a few dance steps, but she was much better with drums. And compared to Muujiza's dancing skills... She was pretty pathetic. Good thing nobody was a harsh critic in this Pride... Very good thing.
"Yup, just like you guys. This was our meeting spot, we didn't even have to ask if we were going to meet here, we just did every morning. There was always at least one other friend here, so it worked out quite well." Those times, sadly, were gone. She remembered fondly bumping her parents before she headed off each morning. The plague had destroyed all of that, but in the wake of it came the the uprise of the new. Her current lifestyle, while it could never completely replace the old, was every bit as filling. Isithunzi was most grateful to whatever gods had favored her at the time that she had run into Nsundu when she did.

Mawi Mai smiled a bit at her mother and nodded. "He's pretty good, he's working on it as much as he can." She remembered the first time he danced for her, he had improved so much since then." She grinned at her then flipped the hair out of her eyes as she looked at her mother.
"Hmmm..." Mawi Mai sat back thinking a bit. Her eyes scaned around the area before they rested on her mother, her ears twiched as she smiled. "That sounded like a lot of fun." Her smile grew a little bit more as she felt a nice breeze.

Isithunzi turned her face into the breeze, closing her eyes as she listened to her daughter's words. She personally would like to meet Aapep, she was always glad to meet others with an interest in the same things as herself. She should very much like to meet him, see if he could keep up with her song. The faint reminder of a grin appeared on her muzzle at the thought. He sounded like he'd be able to.
"Yeah," she said finally after Mawi's second statement. She opened her eyes now and turned to her daughter. She still couldn't believe how quickly they'd grown... "Ah, Mawi. You and your sister have grown so beautifully. I'm so proud of the both of you." Isi leaned over and nuzzled her daughter, they had grown up, but she still reserved the right to nuzzle them when she wanted.

Mawi Mai closed her eyes for a moment enjoying the breeze. When her mother leaned over and nuzzled her she blinked then looked up. "Thank you mother." She smiled a bit at her then shook the hair out of her eyes, she nuzzled her mother back then shifting on her haunches. She loved her mother and she was not embarrassed to admit that like some others. She nodded to her mother then grinned. "You should also be proud of yourself ma! You did the best job ever raising me and Taka... And your still doing a best job with raising the new ones." She couldn't come up with all seven of the names right off of her tongue. It was taking her some time to come up with all of the names, getting used to all of them.

Isithunzi smiled. "Thank you, dear. I'm glad to hear that," she said. Many would've said that properly raising cubs was impossible without a father around... She'd kind of worried about it, but not so much, anymore. Her first two girls turned out perfect, and she was growing a bit more lax with the large litter. After all, the younger ones had more siblings to play with, more pridemembers too, than did Mawi and Taka. Things always got easier as time went, didn't matter what the case was, it seemed. Isithunzi had noticed that as a trend over her life... And it only was proven true.

A soft smile was on Mawi's face as her mother thanked her. "Its no problem mom it's true." She smiled a bit at her mother before turning foreward thinking. She really didn't care that she wasn't raised by her mother and father, she was happy with just her mother and sister, infact sometimes she wished the newer litter never came, then again she was just a little jelous of them. She looked up for a moment then quickly stood up. "Shoot. Sorry mom." She sighed a bit but turned to her mother and nuzzled her. "I promised my friend I'd meet up with him today," She laughed lightly, "See you later." She said with a soft smile then turned toward the drum circle. "Love you mom!" She called out. She was accutally quiet glad she caught her mom by herself for once.

"I love you too, have fun!" Isithunzi called out as she watched her tan daughter go. "Heh, they're all grown up," she said to herself quietly with a distant smile on her muzzle. "My friends," she said, turning thoughtfully to the seashore and speaking to nobody who was still on this earth. "Who would've ever imagined that I would share our special meeting place?" She rose to her paws and headed inland again. There were many things to do these days, she'd relaxed plenty today.
