[R]iley [E]lizabeth [R]enolds After placing her messenger bag on her bed the girl grabbed her books and slid them under her arm. Taking her Schedule she looked at it. Placing two of her books down she had time between other classes to gather them. Leaving her bed and other belongings she made her way to the commons. Colors of Green and Silver filled the room. Two tapestry’s were hung upon each side of the rooms fireplace. Looking through the room she noted she was the only person in it. Letting out a victorious smile the girl knew this didn’t happen very much. Making her way to the tapestry on the left she lifted her hand and began to feel the many strands on the picture. The vibrant snake imprinted on it made her surprised by the detailed thread. The fabric had to be old beyond belief. Her eyes gazed up and around the edges of the tapestry. Tracing the gold edging along the sides with her hand the girl turned from the wall and looked to the new decorations of this year. The couches seemed different. At least they seemed newly fabric. They could be the same couches that even her Mother used while she was here. Her mother had also graduated as a Slytherin, but her father on the other hand was of a different house. He was of Gryffindor. This often surprised her. The way her father acted now, as though he kept all of his childhood mischief making a secret from everyone even though they probably knew of it anyway. Looking around the room still she noted many new little things that had changed over the year. She couldn’t imagine the room not changing, as so did the students every new year. She could remember the first time she walked into the Hogwarts halls. She smiled with a smirk on her face as she remembered how scared she was when she came to the sorting hat. How she was surprised she was chosen through the Slytherin house. She figured she would have any of the other houses, but through the years this specific house sufficed.
Sitting down on the couch the girl pulled the paper from her side and began to read. Monday had Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures. Tuesday she had History of Magic, And potions. Wednesday, She had Charms. Thursday she had Transfiguration, Defense against the dark arts, and Lastly on Friday she had History of Magic, Charms, and Potions. Placing the Schedule within her Herbology book the girl let out a sigh. She thought of her class that was coming, which was herbology. She was not detesting the class, it was not her favorite though. After that she had care for magical creatures. But that seemed to be in the afternoon. As she could remember. Leaning back on the couch the girl Closed her eyes and began to think. Stretching her arms long the girl sighed and sat up. Bracing her books up she placed them within her arm. Hearing footsteps the girls eyes turned. Coming down the stairs of the boys dormitories was a boy with light brown hair pushed back out of his face. He had the same pale skin as she and very similar eyes as she. He grinned slyly at her as he flopped onto the couch aside her. Her elder brother, Darius. The girl smiled slightly at him as she watched him push his hair from his face. “If your just getting up your not going to make it to breakfast.” The girl said as she adjusted the books in her hand. The Seventh year smiled. ”Nah. It was worth it. Sleep didn’t come to me last night until later than you little sister. The boy let out a brief yawn before standing up. He gave her a wave before speaking. ”Don’t get yourself in to trouble like I always do first day. Amazing way to start a year, I gotta admit. But you know mum and Dad.” The boy stopped and chuckled. ”They always tell me my quick mouth is what will get me killed one day.” The boy finished his statement and then made his way from the room. Riley wondered for a moment how the two were even possibly related. He was more like the Slytherin Sirus than anyone else in their family. So many pranks, so many victims. She never understood why he did this as much as he did.
