Aslam-Alaykum

Overview: First let me clear this, that this thread is made in hurry as i don't know the name of the day in Arabic while we in Pakistan call it "shab-e-baraat' which means the 'Night of People'.

Why it is shab-e-baraat (Night of People)?
Well on this night Allah writes what one will get and loose (you can say as FUTURE). Allah writes it down in the book of deeds (Amaal-Namaa). For explaining the book of deeds you need to know few things thing::

There are two angels on our shoulders(right and left) on right is the one who writes(in the book of deeds) the good deeds we do, where as the angel on left shoulder writes the bad deeds we do.

every one has his own book of deeds; on the day of judgment every one will be giving his book (as a result card) and he has to pay his attendance to ALLAH for if he has Failed or Passed.

First before i start i want to say that i have no Ayats or Hadiths(in Arabic) to support me so i won't be presenting Hadiths or Ayats

So lets start with the most common thing said!

Allah Opens the doors of Forgiveness to EVERYONE!
Yes Allah opens the doors for forgiveness to every one, every one that asks Allah by true heart for forgiveness is given forgiveness. There is an event defining the importance of shab-e-baraat which is as follows:

One day Holy Prophet Isa (pbuh) was going by a Mountain and a Voice above bellowed ordering him to move the rock that was placed near by him, as he did so there was an extreme old man remembering Allah; when Prophet Isa (pbuh) Asks him "How much time passed you have been praising Allah?" he replies "500 years"; and then Prophet Isa (pbuh) asks Allah "Who could be more pious then him?" Allah replies "The nation of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) will be given one night (shab-e-baraat) if any of them prays that night then he will be more superior to this man"(who have prayed for 500 years)! prophet Isa (pbuh) exclaims "Subu'han-ALLAH" (all praise to ALLAH).

But there is certain number of people who do not get forgiveness and which are given as follows:

1:The one who drinks. (probably alcohol)
2:The one who does not respect his/er parents.
3:The one who makes Muslims fight with each other.
4:The one who is Proud(in negative manner) of him self.
5:The one who draws faces.
6:The Man (no women) who wears shalwar below their 'ankle bone'.
7:Those who bite back.

but there are also ways to get forgiveness::

1:The one who drinks (probably alcohol)
They need to take oath and pray Allah that they won't drink again (and may Allah bless them patience).
2:The one who does not respect his/er parents.
>They need to say sorry to their parents, and then Allah.
>>If there parents are no more then they have to go to their grave and ask for forgiveness from their parents then Allah.
>>If they are unable to find the grave then they should pray at the gate of grave yard for forgiveness from their parents then Allah.
>>If they can not reach the grave yard then they should imagine their parents graves are in front of them and should ask for forgiveness from then and then Allah.

3:The one who makes Muslims fight with each other.
They who fight with Muslims need to ask for forgiveness to them and pray Allah that they won't do such act again

4:The one who is Proud(in negative manner) of him self.

They should ask for forgiveness from Allah and stop being proud of themselves.

5:The one who draws faces.
They should take oath that they won't draw and ask for forgiveness to Allah.

6:The Man (not women) who wears shalwar below their 'ankle bone'.
They should start wearing their shalwar above the ankle bone and ask for forgiveness from Allah.

7:Those who bite back.
They should stop doing so and ask for forgiveness from Allah
