Yeah I know it was horrible. But not quite as bad as your joke though. lol

Ah that sucks. But you could be taking the time to go out and get the materials for your home made oven and building it. neutral

You know, instead of wasting a s**t ton of electricity by using the hairdryer.

sweatdrop Sorry, I had to say it.

It just cleared up today. I'm going to use the box it came in which, for some reason, has "K 98" satmped on it.

Lol import noobs.
lol

All of my boxes were properly marked, consider me blessed. neutral

Wait, you're going to try what I suggested with a cardboard box? ... Hmm, I have no idea if that will or wont work.

Well, the box was STAMPED with "K 98" but the other end had " '44 M91/30" scribbled on it in sharpie. Of course, upon noting the fact that it was made in 1944 I now realise why my stock is such a PoS.

Yeah, kind of like a solar hotdog oven.

Rofl! Well at least someone had the sense to correct it.

What's wrong with the stock other than the cosmoline? Tons of dents and scratches?

I guess it was made with cheap wood. It is light and feels flimsy. Where as my brother's M44 stock feels heavy and a lot more sturdy.

I thought that they used only one type of wood.
Can't remember what kind though.

Oh I remember. They either used a hardwood stock or some sort of laminate. As to which hardwood I couldn't fathom a guess.

I don't think so.

I can't tell from looking at it.

Remove the butt plate and check to see if it's layered like laminate.

With the oven idea, I would use a partial slot in the top, to get the mosin in and out, but not as to let the sun just down on it. Line it all around with tin foil, and paint it black on the tin foil and outsides if possible, that'll make it alot hotter.

Meh, it was my sixth grade or so sciene experiment, I made burgers in that sucker!

Black trashbag.

Hillside or roof, or spot that gets prime direct sunlight.

Cat litter.

Place cat litter and stock in black trashbag, and place trashbag in direct sunlight.

The litter will absorb a fair amount of what bleeds, and then you can clean out what is left afterwards through much more intensive methods.

I wouldn't use that freshstep s**t with tons of odor. Honestly, would you want to go to the range and have someone say, "hey, what the hell smells like a litterbox?
