Mvushi grumbled as he moved along the lands of his pride, looking in a rather sour mood. He'd just spent three merciless hours with Panda, she would not shot up. He swore that cub was mental... if only her parents would keep better watch on her! Of course, she was beginning to grow more and more everyday, and soon she could no longer be a cub. He snorted and shoved all thoughts of her out of his mind as quickly as he could, tail flicking.
His eyes shifted to a few different lions as he headed toward the other side of the lands, wanting to get to a rather nice and shady spot. He was careful not to look anyone in the eye, they might assume he was free to be bothered and given a task. He'd found out that if he walked around as if he was busy many lions just thought as much, and that suited the former record keeper very well.

Ukene had gotten lost. Despite the ominous sound, it was actually becoming quite common for her to somehow wander away from her siblings. A blade of grass shining a bit differently than all the others? Cause for investigation, and subsequently getting lost. A lion with a colour she'd never seen before? Cause for investigation, and subsequently getting lost. An interesting feather laying about? Definitely cause for investigation. And yes, getting lost.
The things that could distract a normal cub were many, but the things that could distract Ukene were numerous and uncountable - everything was new, fresh and interesting to the little lioness, and she used every opportunity to investigate. Of course, it didn't help that her attention tended to drift away after a few seconds of prodding, poking and contemplating.
And that was how the little cub had gotten lost on this day. Ukene vaguely remembered something about there having been an interestingly shaped stone, but to be honest it was all a bit fuzzy. What she did know was that she was thoroughly lost in an area of her pride's lands that she and her siblings had yet to explore. But it didn't really matter, there were plenty of adults around, and sooner or later Utunzo would come find her. He had an uncanny knack for that, or at least she thought so - logically it might have had something to do with her brother being a wee bit smarter than her and knowing her too well.
But with the thought of eventual rescue in her thoughts, Ukene made up her mind to stay right here until then and resolutely sat down. Right in front of the walking Mvushi.

Seriously this whole pride blew, maybe he should get up the courage to just end his life.... it was funny, he could only think of killing himself and not really ever the thought of running away. To him nothing existed out of the Mwezi'Johari, regardless of the fact that he could have a much better life outside of it. Things might have been different if he'd been born a slave, but that had hardly been the case. All of his troubles were put upon the female he had once loved.... he'd been so silly, so stupid. Lionesses, therefore, weren't to be trusted.
His nostrils flared and he narrowed his eyes as his gaze jerked back into the front of him. Ever since Panda he hated the smell of the young. It was constantly grating on his nerves, constantly filling his nostrils. He swore he could smell that little munchkin even when he was about to sleep. It made him sick to his stomach, and for some reason very nervous. This, however, was not Panda. It was some little girl, even younger than the little girl who'd been bothering him these past weeks.
He'd kept walking but he realized at this rate he'd have to go around her or step on her. Normally he'd just go around and ignore the cub, but today he was feeling entirely too bitter and grumpy. Especially toward cubs. "Move kid, your parents probably are looking for you." His voice was smooth but sharp, fluid and to the point. He was standing and staring down at her, careful not to let his voice carry to the others in the vicinity. She probably didn't know he was a slave and couldn't act this way; they would.

"Oh." The little cub blinked up at the slave, "Mom probably is, but Daddy isn't." She nodded along to her own words before throwing him a look that all but screamed 'duh, you should've known that'. She gave the older male a once-over, noting the pretty colours of his coat, and the nice marking on his forehead. It was definitely pretty, but Alcmene's patterns were still the prettiest she'd seen, yet.
"Daddy's already here, so he doesn't need to find me!" Ukene beamed up at him. Her mother had said that her father would always be with her, which the young cub had taken to mean literally, proud that her father was awesome enough to be invisible all the time - a thing she'd wasted no time in telling everyone and everything around her. The rudeness of Mvushi's words weren't even registering in her mind, simply the fact that this was a person she hadn't met before, therefore somewhat interesting.

His face scrunched up into something of disgust as she stated that and his brows rose in a questionable manner, making his facial expression to be pretty humorous. Right then, time to move around the little thing. He started to step to the side when she stated her father was here... crap, had he over heard?
Mvushi's head jerked to the side slightly as he looked over his shoulder, the scowl still pressent on his features. No, no lions. His gaze slowly shifted and moved around their area and he became very visable. There weren't any male lions close enough for him to see, none that he thought were this cubs father. "I don't see anyone like that." He stated dryly, basically calling her bluff. He did not realize why she believed such a thing, of course.

Ukene giggled, watching the expressions change on Mvushi's face. What fun! This was much better than the last time she'd gotten lost, and had ended up fighting her way out of a mudhole (well, perhaps not so much fighting as actual rolling around.. but fighting sounded better) only to face her mothers scolding.
"Of course not silly, he's dead." The superior tone of voice was audible, and the little cub was nodding again. "He's still awesomer than you, though!" Just in case this strange lion would try to steal her daddy's place of awesomeness. After all, she had been told to be wary of strangers, and this was the only reason she could think of for that.
