Hmm. I'm not sure. Maybe you can if you make your sims keep a copy and then make them read it and take it from them. But I dunno if it would sell for the actual price or $0 like other books.
I don't know, sorry, because none of my Sims have ever finished a novel! Sorry to distract from your question, but how do they do it? How long does it take? It's one of those things that's always kind of annoyed me because I couldn't work out how to fullfil the 'Write a Bestselling Novel' want!

The option is on any computer. You just choose "Write Novel". It takes them a long time to do it. But if you have to stop they can come back to it later. Just click "Write Novel" and they'll continue what they started.

I've tried that before, but they never seem to finish, how long does it take? Maybe I'm just impatient, but I'm sure they sit there for days and never finish!

I think it takes a minimum of 3 Sim days constant work. There are hacks available to make it faster.
As for the original question, the problem with novels is that it is only possible to get one copy of each book so while you can sell the novels (at least I think) you would have to write a new one every time you needed to restock.
