Needs RP, needs to make her way to Duma'chama. Maybe a mate? (LOTS of RP needed for that. Aqila is the uh....'bookish' sort, and doesn't take much notice of anyone in 'that' way.)

Name: Dubu'mwana
Meaning: Bear Child

Personality: Dubu is very...well, bear-like. He is a steady, slow moving boy. He rarely rushes things, unless they need to be rushed. Dubu almost never moves very quickly, and it takes a great deal to rouse his ire. However, once that near-impossible feat is accomplished, one would find themselves with a life-long enemy.
He loves to learn new things, and is very curious of the world around him. Dubu also loves anything having to do with legends and Gods. They intrigue him, and he's always felt a pulling towards them.
Dubu is the sort of boy who learns many things through experience and example. He loves to craft items from things he finds, especially things left behind by humans.
Dubu's also a bit of a protective yeenur. Despite his slow nature, his larger-than-average size and strangely bear-like nature gives him a decent amount of brute strength. And he’ll use that, coupled with his six-mile-wide stubborn streak, to protect anyone he cares about. Hurting a friend or family member is a good way to get the bear-like hyena to move quickly.

Background: Dubu grew up with rather strange parents...They had come from a zoo. They loved naming their pups for animal traits and the like...Dubu happened to share his father's thick, shaggy coat and his mother's brown coloring, so he was named 'Bear Child'. He didn't mind. His parents cultivated bear-like traits in him, and he became a sweet boy. He was ever respectful and kind towards females, since he had nothing but sisters...
Rather admirable sisters too. To Dubu, they were everything females should be...clever, quick-witted, sound of mind and body, and not the sort to go after each others' throats ever day.
Eventually, Dubu and his sisters grew old enough to strike out on their own, and so they did, promising their parents they would bring their own pups to visit once they mated. Dubu found himself a nice watering hole that attracted all manner of strange things, and he found himself intrigued by the legends of the creatures around him. Especially gods.

Meaning: Wisdom

Personality: Aqila is...not the nicest gal to know. She's rather vain, keeping her white fur clean as much as possible...except her front paws, which are often stained with berry juice or blood. Aqila believes cheetahs are better than other races, and treats leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, and the like with the tolerance one would show a beloved slave. Lions...she HATES lions. To her, they are THE scum of the savanna. And hybrids are a mockery of nature that will destroy themselves.
She's a rather....'bookish' sort, who loves gathering knowledge and especially loves studying the stars. Aqila would rather tear someone apart with words than claws, or use words to turn them to her advantage.

Background: Aqila's father never really got on with his brother...The two had such different views on what it meant to be a cheetah. Aqila's uncle held great pride in his heritage, even to the point of rejecting help from non-cheetahs if it was offered. Aqila's father...took the help his mate's lioness 'sister' offered them. Aqila, barely a few weeks old, never saw her grand uncle and aunt, or beautiful cousins again.
At first, everything was fine...But Aqila could not shake the feeling something was horribly wrong. To turn out this feeling, she turned to learning. She greedily remembered every tale she heard, every rumor passed to her, and every painting on rocks and cave walls. As she learned more and more, she found that instead of banishing the feeling of unease, it increased.
Cheetahs were dying out. Filthy, infertile hybrids were taking over...the misbegotten spawn of 'love' between lions and leopards and cheetahs. Aqila, like her uncle, had pride in her species. And the knowledge they were dwindling saddened and enraged her. She confronted her father about it...and he chose to do nothing. "Why bite the paw that feeds?" Aqila lashed out at her father, then ran. The adolescent made her own way in life. She sought more knowledge, and became very quick in mind and body...
She had a habit of pissing off other creatures with her sharp, cutting words. Why fight, when words leave deeper scars? She grew into an adult, and one particular rumor caught her ears. Told to her by another cheetah, it was of a coalition forming in the south...a haven for cheetahs and cheetahs alone. She grinned...and started for the south.
