Mito was no less eager to get the meat back to the pride. The moment they dumped the bodies, he hoped, they would be able to slip away just the two of them and have some private time together. He didn’t like the idea of going into her pride, really, but she hadn’t told him to be careful so he reckoned it was a fairly welcoming place. Maybe she had mentioned something about that before, he couldn’t quite recall. In any case, he knew things would work out fine so long as he made sure he paid attention. He just… didn’t feel that comfortable. For him prides were foreign. They policies and ways of life seemed so different from what he was used to.
Would he ever find a pride he could belong to?
He wasn’t even sure he wanted to at that point. His life wasn’t that aged, but maybe he was already too old to settle in any one place. The existence of a nomad was all he had known. But why was he worrying so much? They would only be there for a little and he didn’t have to talk to anyone.
The whole thing was prompted by silly paranoia.
“Alright!” he chuckled, following her lead. Though he had been to the pride before, he hadn’t really remembered the best way to get there. Better to let her drive so he didn’t get them both lost while trying to be a male.
He had to keep his pace pretty quick to keep up with Ivie, but he didn’t mind since she seemed happy and, if that was because of him, how could he complain?
Once they arrived, it didn’t take Mito long to process what he needed to do, depositing the body besides the one she had dropped. He let is lie on the ground, licking the blood from his mouth happily. It hadn’t been that much of a bother to drag the dead animal so far, though he did pity the body a little bit. Such a shameful way to go in one respect. But the meat would be good for the others so… maybe getting dragged across the dirt wasn’t all bad.
Grinning, he looked back at Ivie, much more interested in her than any trivial thoughts of pity or concern.
“Sounds great!” he replied happily, grinning almost from ear to ear, “yeah, I’m not really sure I’d like talking to a lot of lions I don’t know. I’m not that social. Let’s go to your den. I think that would be the best thing for both of us!” He was irritated, though, that they had to wait to summon the lions for their meal. Couldn’t they just run off already and hope someone found the food? He wanted to be alone with her!

If he'd enquired about the Mwezi'johari, maybe Ivie would have tried to convince him to sign up, to join the pride so that they could be close by always. Maybe she wouldn't. Who knows! She might have been quite fond of the idea, then again, these rare little moments, these unexpected visits wouldn't be as special.
Maybe she was being foolish, but at this moment in time she thought these visits would never cease, that for the rest of her life Mito would appear at random and share a night with her in her den. It was a warm and comforting thought. With him she was never truly alone. He chased away the demons that snapped at her. He made her forget about Fedha and his constant rejections of her.
Not wasting any time, she pressed close to Mito, almost as if teasing him and herself, building up for the moment when they could slip away. Then, summoning her strength, she raised her head and roared. The roar was simple but effective. It's meaning: Food. Then, when she closed her jaws and shut off the sound she turned to face her friend - eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Come then, Mito my friend, let's be off before they can catch us for a chat. Social or not, I can think of better things right now." And with a flirtacious purr she rubbed firmly against him and tore off in the direction of her den.
She could barely contain her excitement.
