Don't forget that if you want a repro scope for a Mosin, you have to replace the bolt. The straight bolt doesn't cycle with the scope in the way.

Oh I forgot about that.

It's pretty simple though. I think some places sell the bolt bodies that are bent too.
I think there's a discount if you send your bolt body to get bent.

But still, it's a lot cheaper than most of the medium to higher quality scopes with and it's essentially military grade.
...
granted it's Soviet but...
eh they got it right anyway.
Soviet technology: it may be imperfect, but it will be imperfect FOREVER.

lol
It'll work dammit!
... unless it's a nuclear reactor failsafe program.

See what I did there?

That'll work too, if you don't TURN IT OFF.

Seriously, I have no idea WTF they were thinking...

Yeah true.
But not being able to turn it off is a commitment.
Besides, a good ol' wrap with a monkey wrench will solve that problem. Soviet Engineering troubleshooting step number 1.

Lol at the argument on soviet technology.

But mainly I'm looking for something in .223, I saw a few rock river arm AR-15's that I liked.

A rap with a monkey wrench would have fixed the problem perfectly. A good solid rap square on the head of the douche trying to disable the failsafes.

As to the main topic, Rock River makes an excellent rifle, though expensive. You get what you pay for, really you do. I'm 100% satisfied with mine, and if/when I ever get another, it's gonna be an RRA. Just be sure to get the double-stage trigger upgrade. You'll want it.

If you're flexible on the "semi-auto" issue, Remington makes a pump-gun that takes 870 stocks and grips and AR magazines. Certainly fun for the whole family, easy to clean (ARs have so many nasty crevices), and much more reliable.
