Yeah, 2nd from the bottom looks horribly done. Though when you badly need a rifle, looks don't matter, so I gues you can't blame them for that too much.

About jerry rigging, I can see where mule would be on the right track about where it came from. Jerries=germans SO we are still insulting people.

It cycles better than my nicer looking M91/30.
By that I mean, I don't need a pry bar to turn the bolt after firing a shot.

confused

Oh... yeah. I wonder if that stemmed from the Donkey Panzerfaust combo.

umm....WTF? and here I thought the russian pushtank was weird.
They needed a counterpart to the French Resistance 75mm Vespa.

Oh god... What's the top speed? 5 mph without ammunition?

Well, at least they thought about the driver on that one.

My money is on that the padding was an after thought.

It's probably decently quick. It only held three rounds strapped to the side and one in the pipe, but the launcher that was attached to it was a man-portable model, so it wasn't too heavy.

I can't imagine an explosive failure though. gonk

Oh it's a man portable gun? It looks heavier than that though.

Well anyway, I don't think it would be drivable at that point.

Would they fire while riding? If so... that would be catastrophic.

Yeah, it's an M20 recoilless rifle. Made to be mounted on a Browning M1919 tripod or a jeep bed, 'cos it weighs 114 pounds unloaded. They did fire the thing while it was moving, and it made for an interesting light tank killer. Who's gonna think some guy on a scooter is really going to blow the living ******** out of that Panzer?

Definitely the same people that didn't think the French had hand grenades or the know-how to make Molotovs.

Uncovered half tracks and personnel trucks in an urban environment?

Do you suppose that scooter could out maneuver a Panzer?

Could that thing even pierce the side armor on the first try?
On a... Panzer IV Ausf D.
No armor skirts, sucky gun and 0.79 in of steel plating.

4"/100mm armor penetration with HEAT rounds. And yeah, I think that tiny little scooter could probably outmaneuver a tank, although the tank doesn't have to be pointing at the scooter to hit it, which is a pretty big advantage.

True. Splash damage is huge.
Those shorter low velocity guns were given HE rounds.

There's also the machinegun, I think they were given two MG34s. One on the hull and I think the other was on the turret.

You could be alot more sneaky with a vespa.
You can turn it off, hop off and walk it.

You're right, but that's not what I meant to say. I mean a tank can turn its turret, but the Vespa has to be pointing and driving directly at the tank in order to hit it.

could one simply lift up the scooter and run at the tank, firing wildly?
because that would be awesome.

Yes, but you'll need strength above 54.

The launcher alone weighs 114 pounds.
