OK, so, I was talking to someone who shall remain nameless and they said that the casting peoples were thinking of replacing Taylor Lautner as Jacob. Now, my source is the farthest thing from reliable, so I just wanted to know if any of you heard anything about such a thing. Please let me know if I have to yell at the person that told me this or if I should just burst into tears now. (I loved Taylor as Jake, if you couldn't tell.)

I hope they do...sorry to bust your bubble but theres no way he can grow up to looking the age of 25 in such a short amount of time... I hope to god they replace him with steven strait...I know you like taylor and all, and I understand but I guess we'll find out when they officially announce it. (of course, he'll be in the movie a little because he has to 'turn' or whatever...then bella doesn't see him for a while and BAM new Jacob.) hope that makes you feel a little better?

I'm guessing it's unreliable, because there was an interview with Taylor and he said that he can't wait for the next movie because of the "does my nakedness bother you" (i think that's what it is? correct me if im wrong...:/) line.
and plus, i heard catherine (director) say that Taylor Lautner is going to have a huge part in the second film if they were to make one (which they are), and that it would really boost up his acting career....
and plus, I don't think that they will replace him because he signed up for Twilight knowing there was like a 90% chance of having a sequel.

I did hear a rumor that they were thinking of replacing him because he's a little too short to be playing a 6'5" werewolf but I SERIOUSLY DOUBT they will replace him because everyone knows him as Jacob now.

I was under the impression that all the actors had signed contracts for at least 3 movies...maybe I'm wrong?

I went to the Australia twilight convention and Taylor was saying how excited he was about being one of the main characters in New Moon.

There it said that Taylor's publicist and stuff were contacting the Benjamin Button special efects ppl, the one's who did the makeup and all the stuff to make the charachter look older and younger..
I do believe that..
I do like Taylor Lautner..but i would absolutely love to see Steven Strait play Jacob Black...
i would much rather his half nacked-ness bother me lol..

I'm not 100% sure, but the director of New Moon said that it might be replaced with a guy name "Michael Copon". He's a Philipino actor.

I would want Steven Strait to play Jacob Black. When I watched the show "The Convenant", he plays the perfect Jacob. biggrin

IMDB Launter has yet to be signed to star in New Moon, due for release in 2009, reportedly because franchise bosses fear he's not strong enough for the role. I found this on IMDB.
So it's not for sure that he's playing it, but it's not for sure that he's not either.
