But my sister got me Wuthering Heights for Christmas for a joy read and it made me laugh because Bella read that book for pleasure... and I heard it isn't really one of those books one would read just to read... like my sister said my school will probably make me read it next year so its like one of those school reads... but nope... i got it for a joy read and I found it amusing.
My family doesn't approve of Twilight so my sister gave me one of her "vampire" books. She said there were vampires in it.
So... how has read it? Does it make sense that Bella read it for pleasure? or does it just make her more strange?

I think any book can be a pleasure book.
There aren't really categories for books and when and how to read them. It's a free country.
So, if Bella enjoys the classics, then who cares? She can read what she wants.

I was thinking of buying Wuthering Heights and giving it a try. I was given Jane Eyre for Christmas last year, and I found t very difficult to read. It really wasn't going anywhere and I had to give up. I'll probably read it later on in my life though . . .

Schools read all different books. I had to read To Kill A Mockingbird last year, and I'm not sure what they'll make me read this year. I'm not in English until February.

Anyways, I think books like Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights are not considered "joy reads" because they take a lot of patience.

But if classics are your thing. Read whatever you want. Whatever floats your boat.

P.S. Let me know if it's worth reading.

I just got done reading scarlett letter more for joy then actually reading even though it was an english assignment. I really think that the classics should be more for joy reading because it gives people insight into what the world was like when they were written and after all they are classic. And it makes you feel more important knowing that a king or a queen had to read the same book hundereds or even half centuries ago.

OMG i had to read that book for English too! i didn't enjoy it.. like the way it was written. i have to say i live modern literature better then classic because I don't understand a thing those people are saying... and it makes me feel stupid. But it would make me feel smarter if i were to read wuthering heights for joy cos my friends would look at me weird... i enjoy that. lol

I've also read "Wuthering Heights". It actually belonged to my sister because she's a classic-reader and she don't support Twilight at all.

I find it like other romantic classic.
But, some parts, reminds me of Bella herself.
