The lioness didn't want to get him in trouble, that was the whole point! Of course, it was difficult to comprehend why he'd be all right getting in trouble all because of her, especially when he was nudging her over. . . . Shouldn't she be one of the last persons to case him trouble? She was his friend and that meant he had to know he could be safe and trouble free around her, right? So if staying til sunset meant he was going to be on the outs once again from his Pride. . . .
Ugh! Men! They just didn't make any sense! Especially when they turned trouble with the pride in to a good thing or some sort of compliment
Her nose wrinkled, but before she had time to actually protest his reasoning, he had pounced. It was a bit unexpected for the feline, considering they had a very formal sort of relationship. It was her doing, really, just because she had figured outside of the occasional game touching wasn't something she knew well. Especially as they grew, she felt awkward and horrendously shy over such things. . . .and what if he found out she liked being close to him? His touches made her stomach somersault though it wasn't in the unpleasant and bad way. . .
Then again, this was something new and something she should tolerate, right? Maybe today she would, if only to say she had played. Jumuu didn't exactly struggle against him - he was quite bigger than she and honestly trying to kick a lion of that mass off of her was impossible. The lioness was strong but she wasn't quite up to such a task against him.
Still, she turned to face him, half pouncing in return, pressing her paws against his mane and shoulders to balance her weight as she tentatively stood on her hind legs. There. . . now she was bigger than him. Almost. Looking down at him, she grinned though she quickly made sure she changed her features to a serious one. Half frowning, she glared at him. "You shouldn't get in trouble because of me though," she finally was able to properly protest. "I don't ever want to cause you trouble, you know . . . . so honest, if you have to go to avoid getting in a jam, truly Intuthu I'll. . .I'll understand." Her features transformed to another grin, not wanting him to think she was REALLY mad . . . .
"I'll stop using you as a balance beam, now," she murmured with a snicker, pulling her front paws off and standing in a more 'proper' lioness position. Her shakers gave a little jingle, and her tail swished happily. "S'good thing you're sturdy. . ."

Intuthu was somewhat surprised that she didn't try to run away from him as quickly as she possibly could! He was glad though and then she used him to balance herself and he wondered if she could just stay there forever. He could smell her, he could smell her so strongly and it was amazing. Even as she was 'telling him off' he couldn't help but grin. As if he cared.
"How about I just don't go back then." He smiled and spoke as she got off him. did she really have to move? He was really enjoying her being that close, it was just, wonderful. He couldn't explain how amazing it felt.
"I quite liked being a balance beam ya know, you should do that more often." He was being bolder then normal but something in him couldn't help it. Part of him, a rather strong part of him wanted to pin her down and tell her how gorgeous she was and how he... well... he loved her. It came to him, just then. That was what it was, of course he had thought about it but hadn't really thought that it was that. How else could one describe such feelings though?
"Maybe we should test you out as a balancing beam." He smiled stepping towards her. He had no intention of using her as one, he wasn't quite sure what he was planning to do but he knew he was going to do something because he had to be close to her, he just had to.

"How about I just don't go back then."
What? Her ears flicked forward, golden eyes widening just a moment before it occurred to her he was teasing. For just a second her breath had caught, though out of concern or joy she wasn't entirely sure. Either way, it just plum didn't matter; he just HAD to be joking. Obviously Intuthu couldn't stay. . . . His pride needed him, didn't they? And what would happen to him if he went rogue? Her features swiftly transformed in to a smile and she eyed him with a little grin. "Don't be ridiculous. . . . You can't just leave your pride like that. . . " The lioness gave a little shake of her head and swished her tail.
" . . .mind, it might keep you from having to walk between the prides everyday but . . . ." What would it be like if Intuthu didn't have to leave? Rather, what would it be like if he could stay? She'd continuously worry about him as a rogue but what if . . . . what if he lived near her pride? What if she could call on him anytime. . .?
Oh, but that could never happen. He was part of the desert, and she was near the lake. He was a warrior, she was with music. . . . Strange really how close they had bonded, all things considered. They came from two different worlds and yet they were the closest of friends. She had been very lucky to meet the lion as a cub . . . in fact, she honestly couldn't imagine her life without him.
Gold eyes watched him approach, teasing about using her for balance. The female gave a soft snort, puffing out her chest in pride but retreating a few steps back. . . just in case he did try. "I could take you, you know," she added, trying to sound tougher than she really was. "You may be big but I'm quick. . . Yo'd have to catch me first." She grinned, taking a little hop to the side, tail swishing behind him.

Intuthu watched her as she seirously seemed to struggle with the thought of him not going back. Was it that hard to imagine that he just might stay here with her? Though a plan had now formed in his head and he couldn't wait to put it into action.
"Sure I could leave. They wouldn't miss me in the slightest. I have told you before that I haven't really ever fitted in!" He smiled at her and chuckled. Yep he was staying, he had made his mind up just by her reaction. He didn't ever want to leave her so why not join the pride? Jumuu had already told him enough to find the leader and ask to stay.
"You can take me can you?" He smirked, was she actually getting playful.
"Lets see then shall we!" And he pounced. He wanted to get her, to pin her down and he wasn't sure if he could but if he got hold of her, it's what he wanted to do. To pin her down and to lick her cheek. Yes it might seem silly but he had wanted to do it all day and he wanted to now even more just to see how she would react to it!

The lioness still couldn't believe that her friend could so casually toss his pride to the wayside. Whether he fit or not, it just didn't make sense. His family lived there, it's where he raised and where he held on to all of his memories. . . . How could he just up and leave?
It saddened her that he felt as if he hadn't a place within the pride. Jumuu was still only a huntress but she knew that the Nchi'mahadhi needed her. Her family would miss her and even if she lost her touch as a huntress. . . well, she would find somewhere else to prove her worth and use. The Nchi'mahadhi would never abandon one of their own, at least as far as Jumuu understood. "But wouldn't you miss them?" She questioned, canting her head to the side. "Besides. . . what would you do? Where would you go? I'd have to go after you, you know. . . . Or at least talk you in to staying here." She added with a little smile.
Yes, she'd invited Intuthu to join her pride if he left his. Surely they could find some place for him, for all the differences of his origins. The lands she walked weren't at all like the desert, and the attitude in her home wasn't anything like his own. . .
But . . . . .
He was Intuthu; he was strong, intelligent, and sweet. Surely he could learn the rhythm, the music. . . maybe he could find himself here and somewhere to belong.
Ah, but she was being selfish. It wasn't fair that she should try to keep him. "Then you'd be stuck with me for good!" As if that were some sort of threat. Hopefully Intuthu wouldn't take it as such. . . . Perhaps she was a dear to him as he was to her. One could only hope.
Jumuu blinked as she realized he really was going to try to get her. Oh . . .crap. Dodging out of the way, the lioness took off at a sprint, opening the gap between them. She whirled around after a good distance was between them, turning to smack the ground with her paws, tail swishing happily behind her. "Oh ho! You'll have to catch me first! Think you're up for it, 'tuthu?" Grinning, the lioness wasted no time, turning to bolt. She wasn't going to make it easy on him . . . And running near the shore of the lake would be fabulous.
Just let him try to catch her. . .
((P.S. If he gives her a good chase she will slow and eventually let him get her. ;3 So feel free to keep the RP going. . . *grins*))

He couldn't help but chuckle.
"I would miss them yes but it's not my home and my mother knows that I have never fitted in."
He smiled like alot when she said that she would have to come after him or make him stay here. He couldn't help but half hope and half wonder if he meant more to her then he originally thought. Oh he dreamt of the day that maybe... oh stop being silly.
He watched her, she seemed to be thinking alot. Oh she was beautiful.
Stuck with her for good?
"Sounds like heaven."
He then moved ready to pounce her. He laughed as the realisation seemed to hit her face and then she ran. Up for it? Of course he was!
He leaped forwards running after her, watching her body moving which was completely distracting. He was suppose to be trying to catch her not enjoying watching her! He shook his head and got his body moving. He would catch her in no time!

The lioness was having an amazing afternoon. With the large, desert lion hot on her heels Jumuu couldn't help but laugh in to the sunshine. The great lake glittered next to them, and the young female couldn't imagine a better time. . . She was with her very best friend and nothing could disrupt their time together. How lucky had she been to meet him that fateful day?
Too damned lucky, that was what.
They had both been lost in their own ways; he was a misfit within the Firekin lands and she was a scaredy-cat all her own. They made an unusual pair, one so meek next to one so large, but it worked out for the best. She wouldn't have it any other way.
"Sounds like heaven." It had been the last thing Intuthu had said before taking chase and Jumuu could already feel her nose flush pink. It was a good thing she was running else her heart might have skipped a beat, but thankfully he couldn't see her face. He was just teasing her, that she knew, but he certainly made it difficult keeping lines of friendship so clearly stated. Her side still tingled from where she had originally rubbed against him, and the thought that he might actually enjoy her presence was . . . well. . . .
It was too much to hope for.
So instead Jumuu ran, attempting to clear her mind and keep out of Intuthu's grasp. Ah, but then again, why run? He'd be off and away once again and she'd have to wait until they could both meet up. Sometimes it wasn't a long wait, other times it time seemed to drag on and on and on . . . so why should she run from the lion she thought so highly of?
Taking yet another chance, the golden eyed lion quite suddenly whipped around. Sliding in the slick beach dirt, she gave a play growl and pounced, quite prepared to tackle and take a tumble with her large white furred friend. Not only wouldn't he expect such a maneuver, but it would give her yet another excuse to cuddle. . . If only for a brief moment. If only to try to keep him down.
He could chalk it up to play, but to Jumuu, the few moments of contact would be secretly cherished.

Intuthu had meant the words that he had said. Living with her would be heaven but he didn't have much time to think about it as he had the beautiful body of his friend running away from him. It was probably a good thing no one could read his mind at that point. They may have been disgusted or rather delighted, but then what more would you expect from a male who was chasing such an attractive female?
He smirked a little as he chased, he wasn't running full speed as he was sure that would give her no chance at all and he wanted to play fair.
Play fair.. HA!
She wasn't playing fair when she suddenly turned, he hadn't really been paying attention, his mind thinking of her... so well he slipped while trying to stop only to be tackled and pinned by Jumuu!
How embarrassing!
Well that would teach him not to get caught unaware. He smiled though, she looked so beautiful. He reached up to her and licked her cheek, looking into her eyes. Her reaction would decide everything. For right now he was planning on staying and finding this leader that Jumuu had told him all about.

The lioness stared down at her friend, golden eyes bright as she kept him pinned. Mind, Intuthu was huge in comparison to the petite female - she understood he could just as easily push her over and knock her off her paws. But the red maned lion was a gentle-giant . . . She trusted him implicitly and understood he would never do anything to hurt her. She was lucky to have him as a friend, lucky to have - - - -
And then he licked her.
Gold eyes went wide for a moment, her body tensed as he offered her the affection. Her stomach flip flopped, but it wasn't with anxiety; the feeling was something else, something . . . . something good. Sure, she felt a bit embarrassed - he had meant to do that, hadn't he? - but overall she was absolutely thrilled.
Friends didn't just lick one another, did they? Well, maybe so, but the physical contact between one another was limited at best. Today, something had changed. . . but something for the best.
Realizing that his lick hadn't been the end of the world, the lioness relaxed. He hadn't pushed her off of him, hadn't objected to her presence or their close proximity and they were both still very well and alive. Slowly, Jumuu relaxed in her position; instead of keeping him pinned, she settled herself more comfortably upon him and allowed her tail to twine with his own. It was a hesitant action at first, unsure how he'd actually respond, but her smile was genuine and sweet.
". . . so who caught who in this chase?" She finally found her voice, canting her head delicately down at him. This had to be the best afternoon ever. . . . Frightening as it was, unsure what was happening between the two of them, it was something wonderful nonetheless.
Should she or shouldn't she? Ah what the heck. Leaning down, the ebony furred female nestled her head against his neck, burying it against his cheek and mane. ". . . my you're awfully cozy." She snickered, lightening the mood and attempting to hide her terror.
Maybe it was too bold a mood. . . but it was well worth it.

Intuthu smiled as he watched her reaction, she didn't mind and he felt the strange feeling in his stomach that she was feeling in hers. Oh Jumuu....
"I obviously caught you!" He stuck his tongue out at her but didn't try and move and when she relaxed and laid on him, their tails intertwining, well what was better then this? He knew he would have to return home soon, but to be honest, he was willing to skip home, in fact he would return to tell his mother of his plans and then he would leave, he would come back here, to Jumuu.
She buried her head in his neck and he couldn't stop the purr like rumble that came out of him.
"I always thought I would make a comfy bed, was my lifes ambition that was!" He chuckled a little but didn't resist her. He was happy, she seemed happy. At last life was, it seemed perfect.

Jumuu didn't bother moving, content to be cuddled atop of the large lion. It truly was strange, the fact that one so big could be so content and happy used as a snuggle object. It was no lie, of course, that he was indeed cuddly - his thick mane was a soft as it looked! Grudgingly, she lifted her head to peer down at him, her own smile much more relaxed and silly.
". . . you caught me, eh? I suppose I won't argue so long as it gets me a few more minutes like this." She murmured, gold eyes bright. He had indeed well and truly caught her, but it was a shame he didn't understand exactly how true his statement rang. She was smitten with her best friend and had no idea how to let him know. . .
Maybe he'd never know, maybe that was for the best. But for now, she'd keep up her facade of 'only friends' and enjoy the few moments she could with such close attention. Besides, if she were very lucky, he wouldn't mind too much.
Nuzzling his cheek lightly with her own, she resumed her cuddled state and heaved a little sigh. A shame they couldn't stay like this. . . the sun would set soon and he'd be gone once again. "Consider your life's ambition complete." She encouraged with a chuckle. "But now that you've crossed that off your list, what'll you do with the rest of your days?"

Intuthu smiled, this was perfect, the most perfect day ever. He looked at her and smiled as she looked at him. Did she realise how completely she had stolen his heart? Did she know that she was so beautiful? He just smiled and let her snuggle up to him again. He was happy to stay like this, all night if need be. He wasn't going to be going home anyway!
"What am I going to do now? I don't know... catch you some more maybe" He chuckled a little wondering how she would react to how he was going to catch her next when he was part of the pride, to live with her. Oh he hoped so much that she would be happy about it.
For now though, he was content and hoped that somehow time would stop so they could spend eternity together like this.

Jumuu was the most content she had been in a long time. Though she always cherished the time Intuthu came to visit, the lioness was now quite aware that something between them had changed. It wasn't a bad change, not at all, and she wondered if perhaps she was the only one that noticed. This was the first time she'd really allowed any touch to pass between them, and though it had been nerve-wracking at first it was . . . well. . . now that she had broken down that unspoken barrier of touch she was addicted.
He was warm and snuggly and she felt very safe around him. Yes, she was quite smitten with her red maned companion and could only hope that perhaps he might feel a little smitten with her too. She knew she wasn't anything special; a huntress, yes, but also with her worries and quirks. But Intuthu had been a constant in her life since they were cubs. He truly meant the world to the lioness and to imagine life without him . . . well. . .
It hurt much more than she cared to say.
"Well I think I'm already well and truly caught, my fine sir." She murmured, nuzzling his cheek ever so lightly. "But let me wish you luck on the hunt if that's the case." Smiling while cuddled in to his mane, the lioness heaved a content sigh and closed her eyes. She knew he'd have to leave soon, but for now, she'd enjoy the moment.
