The Louisiana Justice System ******** my friend

My friend got in a car with a person who, unbeknownst to him, had a quarter pound of marijuana in the car. They got stopped. The driver admitted to owning the pot (it was his) and my friend still got charged with posession w/ intent to distribute along with the others in the car. He says he'll probably end up with probation since it's his first offense, but he can't legally own a firearm anymore!

Can he not sue the state for wrongful incrimination?

Apparently the State of Texas passed a bill that grants people their 2nd amendment rights as long as they haven't committed a VIOLENT crime.
