If you haven't already heard of them Trivium is the ultimate Heavy Metal band to listen to!
There song "Like Light to the Flies" is my personal favorite.
If you have heard of them what's you favorite song?

But my favourite songs by them is

Demon From Ember To Inferno.
Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr from Ascendancy.
To the rats from The Crusade.
Torn Between Scylla And Charibdis from Shogun.

my favourite album by them is probally, Ascendancy or ember to inferno..

I dont like The Crusade too much, but theres a few songs on the album that i like..

Im a big Trivium fan biggrin

Trivium is decent, but after a while the monotone scream of Matt Heafy on Ascendancy gets annoying and I don't know what the hell they were thinking with The Crusade. I mean...I know Metalica was like a BIG influence on them when they were growing up but must they sound EXACTLY like them? But I will admit that their new album is a step in the right direction and Matt actually pulls off some pretty good lows which are extraordinarily refreshing after the one note wonder of Ascendancy. Although I will say that he has a very good singing voice and the guitarwork is decent. I give Trivium a 2 out of 5.

Wow, You sound you know your metal! That's for sure. I do agree with you a little bit on the screams but I kind of like how they sound like Metallica a little bit.

Yea, I've been in and out of Metal bands since I was a wee lad. lol
I've actually played with Trivium before at the Masquerade in GA.
They're really cool guys. Matt's a lightweight though.
We got him drunk after like 5 beers.
He was like "I never drink cause it ******** with your voice". haha

I agree with you that they pulled it off well.
Matt's voice is a lot like James Hetfield's in a lot of ways.
I just think that there are too many bands that sound like Metallica.
I'd rather hear their more original material.

And I also will give you that "Like Light to Flies" is an amazing song.
Its always been one of my favorites in metalcore.

Wow! You've played with Trivium? What's your bands name?
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 12:56 pm
I was with We Die Alone when we played with Trivium.

I'm the singer. My guitarist just joined the Army though so we're on hiatus for a while. The only songs I'm really happy with are "The Labyrinth" and maybe "Descension"
I was also in a band called Self Sacrifice for a while recently.
myspace.com/selfsacrificeband
It was a dual vocalist project like Despised Icon and such.
But there were some disagreements with the other singer and it ended up not working out.

I've also played with All Shall Perish, Parkway Drive, Whitechapel (twice), The Faceless (twice), As Blood Runs Black (twice), The Black Dahlia Murder, Born of Osiris (check them out i forgot this one), Kittie, Necrophagist, Despised Icon (twice), Emmure (twice), Ion Dissonance (twice), It Dies Today, Walls of Jericho, 36 Crazyfists, Cryptopsy (twice), Aborted (twice), Arsis (twice), Cattle Decapitation (twice), Cephalic Carnage (twice), Decapitated (twice), DAATH (twice), Kataklysm, Vader, Dead to Fall, Comeback Kid, Mychildren Mybride (Check out!), For the Fallen Dreams, In Fear and Faith, A Plea For Purging, A Thousand Times Repent, Curse of Deformity, Dead to the World (friend local band check em out), Of Legend, and Crash Romeo.

Actually they aren't as good live as I thought they would be.
Frankie Palmeri just kinda stands there and looks gangsta the whole time. lol
And his voice tends to give out a lot live too.
But still, it was a good performance.

Thanks man.
I wish we could have recorded some of our later songs before we broke up.
They were a lot better in my opinion.

I haven't been on for awhile and got more knowledge on all my metal, and I kind of agree with Methmike on Matt's scream kind of gets annoying on Ascendancy, although that album is probably my favorite besides Shogun. I love Kirisute Gomen!
