Ukene was lounging around, trying to find something interesting to do. Maybe she should go visit Alcmene? But no, she was sure that her friend had a lot of stuff to do now that she was queen, or at least, her mother had said she would have. Ukene couldn't really think of what that should be, but then again, she didn't know a whole lot about ruling a pride - she thought it might be something like being a superhero and fighting off hordes of invaders, but she hadn't really seen any invaders. Then again, maybe it was a secret? Maybe there were hordes of invaders, pushing at their borders and constantly challenging Alcmene to epic fights, warring from dawn to dusk, trying to take over the pride with their evil, uh, invaderness, the only thing stopping them a heroic and selfless Alcmene. In her mind, she was imagining her childhood friend posing heroically in front of the glowing moon, a fierce yet wise expression on her face. And the reason no-one ever talked about it because it was a secret! Or maybe one of the tests the heroes in her mother's stories always had to go through.. Ukene let her mind wander freely as she lay on the warm rock, content to follow it wherever it went until something more interesting came up.

A lot had happened in these past few days, and Taigi admittedly was having a hard time wrapping his head around it. His sister was queen, and he knew deep in his heart that she'd be one of the finest queens the pride would ever see. Yet, he ached for the 'loss' of his father. He couldn't comprehend why his father would let go of his kingship in favor of a female, a slave at that! Love didn't seem to be something Taigi found that important, not if it put you in the eye of public scandal. The former kind now nothing but a slave!
Maybe it hurt a lot because he loved his father, and that was the exact reason why he was avoiding him for these past few days. He needed time to himself, time to recover from the truth that his father had given up his right as king for a lowly female. Taigi certainly didn't want to get mixed up with women at this rate. He was going to be a guard, a lion full of strength and cunning. He wouldn't let any woman ruin his goal, he wouldn't let his life change so drastically for someone who wasn't family.
Harrumphing softly to himself, he flicked his blue bangs away from his eyes, spotting a smaller juvenile not too far from him. Ukene, if he wasn't mistaken, since the pride was small enough that he knew mostly anyone by name, even if he hadn't spoken with them before. "Ukene, right?" he questioned as he approached her, having decided that some conversation would be good to take his mind off of his father.

Wonder if her friend had any powers to help her? Ukene wouldn't put it past the Great Lion to help out, being that he was, well, great and all.
Oh. Someone had said something, hadn't they? She rolled over on her side, now facing towards the voice and spotted another lion. Ooh, that was one of Alcmene's brothers, right? She was supposed to know his name, that was for sure..
She squinted a bit, concentrating hard and not noticing that her lack of answer had made the silence slightly awkward.
"Oh! Taigi!" She beamed, supremely proud of herself.

She seemed... like a little bit of an airhead, to put things nicely. He had sat patiently in silence for a few prolonged seconds while the juvenile seemed lost in her own thoughts. Had she not heard him? Surely not, he'd addressed her by her name, had even made a deliberate approach towards her. Well, he supposed that not every lioness could birth perfectly rounded cubs. This one seemed spacey, and if he remembered, she had a sibling or two somewhere around in the Pride... so maybe they had gotten the brains while she had lucked out. Well, whatever. He wasn't going to make a point of being weirded out by the juvenile, nor did he feel really put off by the delay. She was more interesting than the same thoughts that were floating through his head.
"Yes, Taigi." Well, at least she knew who he was, which earned her a few redeeming points in his book of Those He Doesn't Mind Talking To. "So, what are you up to, Ukene? Don't you have siblings to be wrestling around with at this time?" She could just be the black sheep of her family, Taigi hadn't taken much time to really notice or care.

"I do! But they're off doing apprenticey stuff." She visibly deflated at the thought. "They're really, really awesome though! When they're here. Probably when they're not here too, but I wouldn't really know about that I guess."
She drew a bit closer to him, staring at the moon on his forehead with fascination while letting her mouth run away with her. "Utunzo is going to be a Historian like Mom is, so he's spending loooooads of time with her, which is a bit unfair really 'cause I'd like to spend loads of time with Mom too, but it's okay I guess, 'cause he's my brother and he spends time with me too. And Upenzi's going to be a Hostess." This was heaps more exotic than being a Historian in the juvenile's mind. "That means she's gotta know everyone." She nodded solemnly.
"The Great Lion is falling asleep on your forehead." She informed him, just in case he had missed it.
