Ben Altom, the founder of Tennessee Ska Weekend announced this week that Ska Weekend will not be taking place in 2009, after 6 years of the festival. Altom states that a the economic situation, combined with family goals have caused Ska Weekend to take a backseat this year. Altom encourages fans to check out a similar festival being put on by Fatter Than Albert and Community Records in New Orleans. More information is available at the band's website.

that's really upsetting to hear. But I will have to check out the one in New Orleans since it is not such a great distance from Florida.
Everywhere I go, the genre seems to be slowly letting out a blood curling scream and dying. D;
And New Orleans distance isn't too bad thankfully, from Orlando. But the Knoxville area I had friends where I could stay at... This means I have to befriend New Orleans citizens.
