I also question a corporation who holds this kind of contest for a scholarship. Scholarships should be earned, not won.

well, nevertheless, money is hard to get by these days. you should still support her. also, i highly doubt other people respect and follow the rules and virtue you have stated. society has changed.

Many scholarships are based on some type of contests scenario. I see nothing wrong with this. The students have to show initiative and work to earn votes. There are many scholarships out their that go unclaimed because students do not want to do the whatever is necessary to win them.
