if you think logically, none is better
they all have their good and bad aspects
Byakugan can see through everything
and can be used to stop the flow of Chakra
and give you an almost 360 degree view

Sharingan let's you see through illusions, ninjutsu, and Taijutsu (right?)
and it enables you to copy the skills
and in the advanced forms (i won't go into detail in fear of spoilers)
it can become really deadly

so both have positive aspects but the negative aspect would be:
if you use them against each other in comparison,
I think neither of them would have the upper hand

Sharingan, it did came from the byakugan bloodline but I much likely to prefer this 'cause it makes powerful illusions, copy skills in just one look, see through things although not like the byakugan and I like red.

And I just remembered that the higher level Sharingan can kill you just by looking in your eyes. Like Kakashi said they encountered Itachi and Kisame.

im just gonna be lame...and say...i think the byakuugan is overrated...so lets check out the sharingan...besides there are only 3 who use it now...so...if its only a few people theres gotta be some stuff that even itachi doesnt know about it? (i still hate his mangekyou sharingan)

this has little to do with this...but i think kisame has reaaalllyyy stupid eyes...well then again...hes supposed to be a shark-like merman-ish thingy...or somethin like that...or is he just satan with small eyes!? eek
