"None of this was selfish, I did it for her," he countered, pushing back against his brother's chest as he pushed on his paw. He hadn't gone into this thinking of himself and it was only Baddie's words right now that were making him second guess himself, he was sure of it. "I did this all for her, I'm enduring all this heartache and resentment and everything for her!" He growled and pulled his paw away, looking away from his brother and shaking his head.
"I don't need this from you right now," he said finally, moving to brush past him, walking towards the entrance of the den. If he couldn't find peace in sleeping here tonight, he'd go find an empty den and sleep there. He'd been thinking it was time to find his own, hadn't he? Why not now, right? There were plenty around here. "I'm sick and tired of everyone judging me for what I did when I know it was right," even though now Baddie had made him second guess himself and his motives.

Badiri almost laughed in Fafnir's face when his words conflicted with previous statements. They were never anything of a couple, he implied as if they didn't feel that way, as if he didn't.. but his shouting, the heartache, the willingness to fight over it.. it all said something different. He continued to press back against his brother's paw, keeping them at equilibrium, keeping himself from moving backward.
"Keep telling yourself that, Fafnir," he said as his brother let go and moved around him, stumbling a step forward when suddenly nothing was pushing back against him and the turning to watch him go. He walked after him, stopping just outside the den. He wouldn't follow after him, but he would do his best to get the last word.

It wasn't even worth it to turn around and shout back at Badiri, mostly because he knew his brother wanted to get the last word, he wanted to throw the last stone. At least that's what he kept telling himself over and over as he forced himself to walk away, forced each heavy step onward, to wherever he might find shelter for the night away from the glowers and huffs of his family.
Still, a part of him knew that Badiri was right, and he was trying hard to bury that part of him so deeply that even he'd forget. He was afraid of what being Ally's mate meant, sure, and anyone in his position would be. It hadn't been the whole reason he'd done what he'd done, and he still stood by the fact that he had done most of this for her benefit, but the nagging couldn't be erased now that Badiri had planted that seed. Part of his decision had been selfish, and he knew now that Badiri was right.

He watched him go, standing in the entryway to the den silently. After a moment of watching Fafnir, go, he sat down again and a small smile returned to his face. Fafnir was upset, that should help shove him back in the right direction. Or so Badiri hoped, anyway. If Fafnir hadn't gotten so defensive, if he hadn't said certain things, Badiri might have felt a little bad about what he said. It should have been between Fafnir and Alcmene but that was going nowhere fast, he would not be convinced he had done a bad thing. And he would harass his brother again if he had to, Fafnir was avoiding enough lions as it was.
Still.. he glanced around, wondering if his parents were anywhere that they might have noticed something had happened. He wasn't sure if he would get a lecture or not for actually doing something about the moping, so he avoided it altogether. He got back up, turned around and went to pick himself out a comfy spot to go to sleep.
