Geocaching Vactions

Has anyone ever taken a vaction where the point was to cache or picked a spot for vaction because there were good spots to geocahce. I did that once, the place I went had a lot of earth cahces. Unfortuntly I lost my notes for the area and could not properly log in my finds.

Hmmm, I can't say I've actually organized a whole vacation around geocaching but when I made one of my trips to Japan in 2006 I made a two day side trip for a geocache.

My Japanese in-laws live down in Itami City (between Osaka & Kobe) and I took the shinkansen (bullet train) up to climb Mt Fuji and claim the old virtual cache at the top. That 11 hour all night climb is still the biggest effort I've ever made for a cache. Then there was the freezing cold (in late July) and the 4 hour walk/run down again and the sunburn afterwards.

Good times... gooooood times.

No not an entire vaction, but I am going to Penn. in September and will be Geocaching in my spare time.
