After his brief (and yet so much longer than he'd first planned) stay with Moto and her pride, Hak had begun to wander again. A tiny part of him felt confused over what had gone on that night, but mostly he just felt refreshed. And it had been the natural way of things in the end, and he could not have fought himself off.

The lion slowed, the scent of a potent marking alerting him to the nearby boundary of a pride. The skyline was broken by the lagged peak of the strange fuming mountain: a volcano. Strange, to think a pride would form near something potentially so harmful. It seemed active too. In the distance he could see dark figures drifting in and out of caverns and the long grass. Certainly an unhappy looking bunch.

Deciding to skirt the border (though he did not move any further away from said line. He'd stay only just outside for time's sake) he started off, heading east and north. All the while he continued to observe the lions. He wasn't concerned though...his claws were plenty sharp.

Haramu was in a good mood tonight. Her hunt had gone well, she wasn't the only one hunting now...and the world just seemed less dreary. Hmm...A strange scent caught her attention and led her to frown. Well...a rogue. She chuckled and then put her face into a polite smile. Time to see who was 'visiting' now.

The small lioness trotted forward...and was caught off guard by the very...bright lion who stood at the border. She was bright...but this lion was...BRIGHT. Like water in sunlight. She raised a brow before composing herself and continuing forward.

"You are on the edge of Aikanaro'hini lands."

Hak had seen the lioness coming his way and slowed to let her catch him up. He made no move to run off, but likewise he didn't stop. He wasn't on their land yet, she could walk along with him if she so chose. He did bother to offer a slight nod to her though.

"Ah, is that this pride's name then?" He glanced down at his feet as he went along, swerving wide where the scent markings did. Somehow he'd gathered it night be bad to actually cross that invisible line. "I don't suppose you're an overly welcoming pride, are you?" That much he had gathered from the mix of messages in the scents. "Suffice to say I don't plan on causing your dear family any trouble, provided I can be promised not to garner any in return."

The lioness chuckled. Good. A smart one. "That it is...and yes. We aren't exactly...welcoming, you might say. Or rather...most of the pride isn't." The smile changed to something between a grin and a smirk. "I have no issues with non-demons. Most of the pride, however, sees them as inferior."

She raised a brow at the bright rogue. "As long as you stay on that side of the border, you will be fine. The moment you step inside...well, I am far from the most fearsome of my kin." Never mind the fact she'd been raised fighting someone twice her size...if not larger. "What brings you so close to the children of Hell, rogue?"

Hak listened well, though he found himself puzzling over some of the lioness's words. Demons? Children of hell? It gave him pause, if only in mind. It was not his place to deal with such a troupe, if it was devils that they were. So far she seemed merely a regular lion but then...

"Mere happenstance, I'm sure. My business is my own, but I assure you I mean your...kin...no trouble." After all, none of the lions he'd seen were the same as the demons that haunted his nightmares, both waking and in sleep. "Simply passing through, or rather around. I suppose it would do to give you my name...Hak'Zhakuu." He dipped his head again, omitting his usual 'at your service'...One never knew, a pride of demons might take that literally.

So...polite rogues weren't as rare as she thought. "Well...I am Haramu-chanua." She gave no indication of her rank or status...but the way she moved was that of someone who knew how to fight. "We never worry about trouble." She chuckled again, her eyes flashing with something dark. "Usually, its my kin who MAKE the trouble for intruders. They're not...fond of visitors."

Usually. There was something strange about this polite rogue. What that strangeness stemmed from, she was unsure. And honestly, Haramu didn't truly want to know.

Hak chuckled darkly at the female's words. "I'm certain of that. My reasoning for lingering outside your lands had merit then, I suppose." He of course kept walking along nonchalantly. Not even her faintly veiled threats could shake his cool demeanor it seemed. "Provided I receive no hindrance from your fellows then I can promise none from me in turn."

His posture revealed no stress or tension towards the 'demon' tagging along with him, he appeared entirely at ease as the conversation lapped into silence. Nostrils flaring now and then to be sure of the exact borders of the pride he wove around and over rocks and trees, never once putting even a toe inside the pride's lands. Occasionally he would look up or around at nothing in particular.

Haramu was a little intrigued by the strange male. But she also was unnerved by him. There was something about him now...that was too polite. And it made her demon want to rise and smack it from him. Of course, the lioness knew better. Her demon could take it out later, when she Sira were sparring. But now...now, she kept an eye on the blue male.

"Then...you are safe." He was lucky Hakuna was no longer a guard. She had tended to be a bit...zealous. The older lioness had told her she'd even gone beyond the borders once, to deal with a rogue. "Though I would not tread so close for too long." She chuckled. "You might hear something inside you didn't want to."

As he moved on, a faint smile crossed his lips. "Hear something?" Oh if only she knew. He'd heard things most lions only heard in their dreams. Nightmares, really. Even before his exile he'd heard things far fouler than any screams of pain or torment. Sweet words laid in with poison stung more bitterly than open threats or pained cries.

He would not move away from the border. The direction he intended was on almost the exact other side of the pride's lands, and unable to go directly through he chose the shortest alternative route. That meant sticking close, making the smallest half-circle around the pride that he could. Now and then he turned to watch as the lioness loped along beside him. "...You do your job well."
