Our lovely cat's been ill for a while now, and was very bad when i came back home from uni. Today they've decided that they're going to put him down.
he's the nicest and most friendly cat we have, but he's not hismlef anymore. I love him very much, and we're all pretty damn upset.
I thin they're going to put him down in an hour or so.
I can't stop crying. It's just a constant state of weepyness. My tissue doesn't dry stuff so much as smear the snot and tears around my face 'cos it's so damp.

Oh well, nevermind these things happen.
The ironiclaly funny part is that I need to get work done, and my work is on death culture.
So every time I read about funerals and death (ie every other sodding sentance) it sets me off crying again.
hur hur.

I hope it doesn't hurt too too much and that you finish that project soon!
I'm sure he'd rather go to sleep than put up with being so ill anymore. I know it's really hard losing a pet....

I'm so sorry to hear that, my cat had to be put down a few years ago as well. I hope you feel better soon.

I remember having to put my cat down a while ago.

Atleast they won't be ill and in pain anymore, is my thought on it.

Apparently we're not etting another cat, which absolutely sucks. Life iwthout an animal around the hosue is a somewhat souless and selfish existance, you're not responsible for someone, you don't have that neutral affection to go talk to, and you're not made happier just by seeing it ro spending a little time with it. The time between Gambit, who was the cat before Duncan, and when we got duncan was terrible. It was...bland.
Still, it's not my descision to make.

It might be oddly quiet without another cat in the house. I never got another after mines either. Quite different atmosphere I agree.

Things are ok at the moment, we're just getting on as normal, really. Everything's so quiet and I keep on expecting to see him wandeirng around the house, then you relaise he's not there. I had a chat with my sister about it and I feel a lot better, and i managed to vent out and get over the guilt I felt at us having to put him to sleep. I feel like I can talk to her, whereas with mum and dad and grandad it's more awkward. There's not really any way we can articulate to them how important it is to have a pet -any pet- in the house for us, so we're just carrying on without i guess. Like I said, not our decision.
(we're not even allowed a godlfish though. It just feels like we need something to replace the gap).
I miss him, but it's not so raw anymore, so that's ok.
So, yes, everything's ok at the moment.
